Judea Pearl and the Normalization of Evil

Maureen Dowd of the Jayson Blair Times once tried to justify the hatred emanating from Cindy Sheehan by declaring her viewpoint to be “morally absolute.” After all, she was a grieving parent. No parents should witness their children predecease them, but no one person can and should speak for everybody. Maureen Dowd and Cindy Sheehan both may wish to listen to Judea Pearl.

Judea Pearl is a computer science professor at UCLA. I have no idea what he looks like, and I doubt many people would recognize this average, everyday American. Yet Judea Pearl is the father of Daniel Pearl, the man butchered to death by genocidal Islamofacists simply because he was Jewish.

http://www.danielpearl.org/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Pearl

Most of us will never understand the pain that Judea Pearl will never escape. His opinion may not be absolute, but I certainly care about what he has to say more than most people.

His recent article in the Wall Street Journal is entitled, “Daniel Pearl and the Normalization of Evil.”

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123362422088941893.html

The article should be read over and over again until anybody who doubts the existence of true evil becomes a believer.

America, Israel and the rest of the West are locked in a life and death struggle. On the American side is civilization. On the other side is barbarism. If civilization loses, we will all end up like Daniel Pearl, one way or another.

For those who think I am using the tragic death of a young man to scare the daylights out of people, may God and Judea Pearl forgive me if I am acting wrong.

The world needs to wake up yesterday. London 2007, Bali 2002, Madrid 2004, Israel every day, New York on 9/11 of 2001…these are not aberrations. These were all murders of Jews, and people supporting Jews. The bombing of Synagogues in Argentina and Turkey were murders of Jews and their supporters.

The 2008 bombings in Mumbai, India were deliberate murders of Jews and their supporters.

Enough is enough is enough is enough is enough.

My grandfather and his father went through it in Germany, and somehow survived. I will not live in a world where one more Jewish life is devalued.

Mr. Pearl speaks with more moral authority then I do.

“Neither he (Daniel Pearl), nor the millions who were shocked by his murder, could have possibly predicted that seven years later his abductor, Omar Saeed Sheikh, according to several South Asian reports, would be planning terror acts from the safety of a Pakistani jail. Or that his murderer, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, now in Guantanamo, would proudly boast of his murder in a military tribunal in March 2007 to the cheers of sympathetic jihadi supporters. Or that this ideology of barbarism would be celebrated in European and American universities, fueling rally after rally for Hamas, Hezbollah and other heroes of “the resistance.” Or that another kidnapped young man, Israeli Gilad Shalit, would spend his 950th day of captivity with no Red Cross visitation while world leaders seriously debate whether his kidnappers deserve international recognition.”

I don’t want to hear leftist claptrap about Guantanamo Bay, Abu Gharaib, Coerced interrogation, moral equivalence, cycle of violence, disproportionality, chickens coming home to roost, or any other nonsense.

I want the killers of Daniel Pearl brought to justice. I want the killers to be eradicated. I do not want to reduce the violence against Jews. I want it stopped forever.

Forgive me almighty God, but if Israel one day needs to use nuclear weapons to stop Islamofacist murderers, and no other alternative exists…and it is Jews or the barbarians…

At moments like this I pull myself back from the precipice, and pray that the unthinkable is never truly thought in terms of implementation.

I don’t have all the answers. On some days I feel like I have none of them.

Yet I do have one solution.

Let Western militaries do their jobs. Stop forcing ceasefires that are not worth the paper they are printed on.

Tell the plutocrats and dilettantes at the United Nations to shut up, sit down, and let the good guys finish the job. If they object, America should kick over the table and force them to get paying jobs instead of living like welfare brats off of American dues.

America and Israel have given money, sweat, and blood to make this world better. We do it because nobody else has the guts the strength, or the will to do it.

Yet the struggle is not just military. Mr. Pearl understands that one aspect of the threat comes from where he resides, an American University. We must root out the precursors to terror in our own cultural institutions.

“But somehow, barbarism, often cloaked in the language of ‘resistance,’ has gained acceptance in the most elite circles of our society. The words “war on terror” cannot be uttered today without fear of offense. Civilized society, so it seems, is so numbed by violence that it has lost its gift to be disgusted by evil.”

Imagine somebody coming into your home and violating you in the worst way. Now imagine how Daniel Pearl’s father Judea must feel knowing what his home away from home, UCLA, has become.

“At my own university, UCLA, a symposium last week on human rights turned into a Hamas recruitment rally by a clever academic gimmick. The director of the Center for Near East Studies carefully selected only Israel bashers for the panel, each of whom concluded that the Jewish state is the greatest criminal in human history.

The primary purpose of the event was evident the morning after, when unsuspecting, uninvolved students read an article in the campus newspaper titled, “Scholars say: Israel is in violation of human rights in Gaza,” to which the good name of the University of California was attached. This is where Hamas scored its main triumph — another inch of academic respectability, another inroad into Western minds.”

For those that want to deny that evil exists, or that we can dialogue our way out of this nightmare, or that we can turn back the clock to before Israeli athletes were murdered in Munich, or before Leon Klinghoffer was thrown off a cruise ship, or Pan Am Flight 103 was blown up over Lockerbie Scotland…

This is the world we live in. Up is down, black is white, morality is relative, and self defense is akin to genocide. After all, one man’s murdered Jew is another man’s lampshade.

“Danny’s picture is hanging just in front of me, his warm smile as reassuring as ever. But I find it hard to look him straight in the eyes and say: You did not die in vain.”

I wrote a note to Judea Pearl today. He works within walking distance of my home. Yet I doubt I will visit him. He most likely wants to be left alone. Besides, there is nothing I can say to him. The only thing worth telling him is that the murderers of his son have been brought to justice. That is not true.

“Mr. Pearl,

I read your WSJ article today. As always, my heart goes out to you. I will never fully understand your pain, and hope that Hashem offers you and your family some serenity over time.

I was at that vile symposium at UCLA. When I asked Lisa Hajjar to condemn suicide bombings, she angrily retorted that ‘If you think I favor suicide bombings then that Zionist hat of yours is on way too tight!’

I covered the event from its hateful beginning to its equally hateful end.

https://tygrrrrexpress.com/2009/02/terrorism-and-blood-libel-reaches-ucla/

I let her know that her comments were out of line, bigoted, and racist.

I am the son of a Holocaust survivor, and the words ” never again” mean something to me.

I never met your son, but I will never forget him.

May God bless you always.

eric aka the Tygrrrr Express”

I do not know what else to do. All I can do is pray that somehow, Mr. Pearl is able to find an ounce of peace in his world.

All I know is that this War on Terror absolutely still does exist, regardless of those reluctant to acknowledge this using the proper nomenclature. In fact, for those who dislike the term “War on Terror,” call it by the better name…”War on Islamofacism.”

Judea Pearl must be given justice. This War on Terror must be won at any and all cost.

Never again. Ever!

  1. […] Danny Pearl, who was decapitated by jihadists on video seven years ago, had a must-read op-ed (HT The Tygrrr Express) in yesterday’s WSJ. Mr. Pearl’s key paragraph: “But somehow, barbarism, often […]

  2. So, Chindy Sheehan is “emanating” “hatred” because she abhors the unnecessary war that killed her son, but you “care about what” Judea Pearl “has to say more than most people” because his son died in an unnecessary war. Wow.

And you of all people are comparing the Holocaust and Nazi Germany – with the most dangerous conventional war machine the world had ever known, conquerer of almost all of Europe, direct cause of the deaths of 50 million people – to a bunch of half-cocked, second rate, Third World despots and deranged theocratic hashashins? Really? Wow.

“America, Israel and the rest of the West are locked in a life and death struggle.”

Israel is, to a point, yes. America, no. None of these enemies are an existential threat to the United States. In fact, no nation has been an existential threat since the Soviet Union, and that was never going to happen, and before that you have to go all the way back to the British Empire of the early 19th century. Anyone who thinks otherwise is historically and geopolitically illiterate.

“On the American side is civilization.”

LOL! Yeah, right! Just ask the monarchies in Arabia! Ask the Cubans or Filipinos! The Central Americans and Southeast Asians! LOL! America is on the side of civilization, huh? Wow. You really are that gullible, huh? No. America is on the side of making a buck, Eric. Little more than that.

Good and evil are subjective, religious, moral comcepts. Morality is relative, that’s why the same people you say are evil believe they are doing God’s work, and you fight them for what they believe because you think you’re doing God’s work. Given those precepts, the “war on terror” wil never end. It’s simply a “war on war,” an endless Catch 22.

Only a fool believes in good and evil. There’s smart, there’s stupid, and there’s crazy. There are various cultures, beliefs, morays, and histories and each unique family story. Mix all that together and you get the means and ends of every living, breathing human being on the face of the Earth. once you understand that, you can move forward toward the progress of mankind. As long as you are guided by the myths of good and evil, God and Satan, and arbitrary and subjective “absolutes,” you will find yourself just as mired in wrongness as the very people you fight and detest. To put it simply – the only difference between a terrorist and a warrior on terror is where they go to pray to their pretend God.

  3. Shooter says:

Jersey, in the dimension in which you live perhaps there is no threat to America. In this one, there is. You seem to be so blinded by ideology that the evident is hidden from you. If it doesn’t pass through the filter of your liberal moonbatism, it doesn’t exist.

True evil exists. There are smart and stupid evil people. The stupid ones are usually darwinned out out the gene pool. The smart ones blind stupid people the world around to believe that there is no such thing as evil. As the saying goes, the best trick the devil ever did was to convince people he didn’t exist.

Do you even understand what a “threat” to America is? Of course, waves of Al Qaeda ICBMs may never arc over the horizon and obliterate American infrastructure in nuclear fire, but radical islamofascism is the greatest threat to western civilization it has ever faced. The greatest threat radical islamofascism faces is American resolve. It is working on reducing that, relying in part upon, as Lenin called them, “useful idiots”.

This is a global war that has been going on for centuries, but you are just too blind, deaf, and moronic to discern it. The momentum is with the islamofascists. But we are beating them whereever they pop up. The only way we can lose is to fail to win.

I realize, when I tell you these things, that it’s like trying to explain particle physics to a wooden chicken, but I feel I must give it a try.

  4. Shooter (what exactly do you shoot?),

    “True evil exists.”

Perhaps, but I seriously doubt it, to the point of finding it childishly silly, and I’ve certainly never seen any objectively empirical evidence of it. There’s no scientific theory to prove or disprove it. No mathematic construct. No observable cause or entity. “Evil” is just a subjective measurement an observed (or imagined) behavior. What to you is evil, to another may be good, or benign, or less evil, or nonexistent. Some people think woman who expose their faces are evil. Some people don’t. Some people think that people who are rich are evil. Some people don’t. Some people think money itself is evil. Some people don’t. Some people think revenge killing is evil. Some people don’t. Some people think all war, or all stealing, or all politics is evil. Some people don’t. It depends on your point of view.

You want to talk physics, pal? Well, basic physics tell us that all things happen for a reason. For every action there is a reaction, and every action is caused by some other action, and so forth. Nothing happens in a vacuum. “Evil” exists in a vacuum, an imaginary place in the comic-book minds of people who believe in it. “Evil” has no physical cause, no reason, no motivation aside from itself. It is an imaginary object that reacts without action. It is a myth.

What you call “evil” is simply someone doing something you don’t like. That’s it. You don’t want to know why, and God forbid you take any blame yourself. You just want carte blanche to react to it as you please, and “evil,” being the perfect intangible excuse, allows you to dehumanize your enemy, and do with them as you please. It’s convenient. And it’s rather sleazy. And it’s stupid.

“There are smart and stupid evil people. The stupid ones are usually darwinned out out the gene pool.”

If only that were true! LOL! Darwin shows us that evolution does not proceed to some subjective perfection, but rather allows the stupid to breed amongst themselves. Evolution is just another word for “change over time.” Stupid changes all the time, but always manages to find a way to stay stupid. But really, even smart and stupid and crazy are rather subjective and relative measurements. Yes, we can test an IQ, or scan a crazed brain, but it’s difficult to make the intentionally ignorant learn, or the intentionally crazy normal, and it’s hard to tell which came first – the intention or the ignorance, the craze or the brain damage. That takes hard work, and hard work is an athema to the intellectually lazy. they want easy answers, like “good and evil,” so they can make easy decisions like “kill ’em all ald let God sort ’em out.” Good and evil are just another couple of opiates for the intellectually lazy masses.

“The smart ones blind stupid people the world around to believe that there is no such thing as evil.”

No. The conniving ones convince the ignorant ones that evil does exist so they can profit from the endless, useless, self-destructive wars against it. Again, everything happens for a reason. And with people, money is usually the reason.

“As the saying goes, the best trick the devil ever did was to convince people he didn’t exist.”

There is no Devil, Shooter. No Santa Claus, no Tooth Fairy, no God, no returning Jesus, no Heaven, no Hell, no Superman, no Bugs Bunny, no Bigfoot, no Godzilla. Hate to break it to ya’, but you have to hear it from someone sometime. Once you grow up and realize that, you’ll see the world for what it really is, rather than as some comic book creation in a vacuum.

“Do you even understand what a “threat” to America is? Of course, waves of Al Qaeda ICBMs may never arc over the horizon and obliterate American infrastructure in nuclear fire, but radical islamofascism is the greatest threat to western civilization it has ever faced.”

Nonsense. The Black Plague, Hitler, the Huns, nuclear proliferation, imperial collapse – all of these things were or are greater threats to Western Society than “Islamofascism.” You’d have to be one heck of a delluded, paranoid, easily distracted person to miss that.

And if you think for one second that you can best me intellectually, go ahead and try. I dare you. Na na na na na.

    JMJ,

Your are preaching. Don’t preach, it don’t fit.

    Toma

  6. Toma says:

What Shooter shoots is straight and true. I second his comments.

“Intellectually lazy masses”. Lenin called them “useful idiots.” In the world according to JMJ I must be very useful. Forgive any type Os I’m also a little clutzy. People that feel it necessary to prove how smart they are, ain’t!

    Toma

    P.S.

Very good article Eric. It brings out truly strange colors in some.

  7. Micky 2 says:

“And if you think for one second that you can best me intellectually, go ahead and try. I dare you. Na na na na na.”

” Na na na na na.”

    Hmmm….

looks like you bested yourself right there.

As I’ve said to you before Jersey…
Its really dumb of you to think that you’re that much smarter than anyone else.
Especially when you think that your opinions carry more weight than facts and the truth.

” You’d have to be one heck of a delluded, paranoid, easily distracted person to miss that.”

Obviously something distracted you otherwise you’d realize that all of those have been dealt with, with the exception of nukes.

And as it stands Islamofascism stands to to aquire one of those, or two, or three.

You seem to of been distracted from remembering that.

  8. “Obviously something distracted you otherwise you’d realize that all of those have been dealt with, with the exception of nukes.”

Micky, there’s disease (a far graver threat than terrorism even as it is today), there’s institutionalized corruption and failure, and there’s the inevitable collapse of empire, and we are an empire and all empires eventually collapse under their own weight. It’s just a matter of when. Terrorism should be dealth with very seriously, but it is among the least of our real problems.

    JMJ

  9. Micky 2 says:

“So, Chindy Sheehan is “emanating” “hatred” because she abhors the unnecessary war that killed her son, but you “care about what” Judea Pearl “has to say more than most people” because his son died in an unnecessary war. Wow.”

Yes, because she is emanating from a perspective that it is an “unnecessary war” and not realizing that necessity goes beyond her beliefs.her son believed it was necessary enough to risk his life for it.
Judeo Pearl has no such delusions.

“Micky, there’s disease (a far graver threat than terrorism even as it is today), there’s institutionalized corruption and failure, ”

These things can actually be remedied by thinking people and we have mechanisms in place, checks and balances that deter the progression.
We as a country actually have the abilities, rights and freedoms to combat such a thing from happening.
Should we ignore terrorism to the extent you think we should is not only an insult to those who have died combating it, it also shows incredible unfathomable ignorance and stupidity to think that we should not apply every ounce of resistance to it that we can.
Money can be made and wasted, colonies can be re-built but human lives cannot be returned to society and life in the same manner as governmental or financial infrastructures can.
The threat of an organization who’s only purpose is to eliminate the lives of those they hate is the single greatest threat this country has ever faced.

This PC crap diminishing of the threat is derived mostly due to your hatred for bush

Its you and the looney left, Cindy Sheehan, who needs to not only take a deep breath but you need to come back to life period if you think that somehow Bush is responsible for the sentiments and actions radical Islam has taken against us in the last 8 years since they were there long before even Carter was in office.

Instead of taking such a backasswards approach such as framing things in the context that we must correct 8 years of Bush’s mistakes maybe Obama should start worrying about the mountain of mistakes he has made in the last 2 weeks ?
And then again, if Bush was guilty of making all these mistakes that you and your ilk think Obama must correct can you explain to me why Obama is keeping just about every viable foreign defense policy laid down by Bush ?

And then there’s this regurgitated generic “fear mongering” crap you all instinctively to toss into every conversation.
Are saying that we should not be fearful ?
Are you being a perfect example of the appeasing crap mentioned in the post and Judea Pearls post that will get us all killed ?

Its essential in any fight that you maintain a healthy level of fear.
Its what keeps you on your toes and in touch with reality.

The only reason you and moonbats alike would like to change the language is to simply diminish the efforts of the only man who really ever did anything about the threat and to fulfill your idiotic premonition that you can bring murdering evil people to your way of thinking by using nice words.
Your ideological bigotry is what will kill this country long before any institutionalized or corporate failure will.
As a matter of fact, its that hatred on the left that could very well destroy out country ahead of the threat that radical Islam poses.
Your changing of our rights, our speech, our government to the point that we fail just as has every socialistic endeavor in the past has.
Right now the hatred for corporate America we see coming from socialistic nut jobs is taking a path that if left to progress will destroy the very fabric of our economy
Also, the minimization the left wish’s to place on our enemies is another threat that of mot just as dangerous to American lives is more dangerous.

And then to back it up, I’ll show everyone an ironic display of stupidity in this statement here.

    JMJ;
“As the saying goes, the best trick the devil ever did was to convince people he didn’t exist.”

    “There is no Devil”

Yes, so you must be the devil since it is you who are trying to convince us there is no such thing.

Your claim to be so intelligent is also challenged when you think you can convince people that something that can neither be proven or disapproved does not exist.

    JMJ
“Terrorism should be dealth with very seriously, but it is among the least of our real problems.”

This is the type of thinking that led to 911 and all the attacks before it reared its head and became the evident problem that it always was.

There must never be any subjective allowed that gives any other meaning to good and evil except for what they truly are.
The free and democratic societies on our planet are the ones that put any debate on that issue to rest.
And not the ramblings of some deranged psychopathic leftist

  10. Micky, Cndy Sheehan is among a majority of people in America and around the world who, at least now, believe the war in Iraq was completely unnecessary war, a crooked colonial adventure, and certainly in no way worth the tremendous costs. That is not “hatred.” It’s just plain good sense.

“These things can actually be remedied by thinking people and we have mechanisms in place, checks and balances that deter the progression.”

And we have that for terrorism too. We have the CIA, we have the FBI, we have the courts, we have FISA (and that’s not even necessary), and we have allies and treaties. There’s no need to go to war against as tactic. It’s just plain stupid.

“The threat of an organization who’s only purpose is to eliminate the lives of those they hate is the single greatest threat this country has ever faced.”

Nonsense. Utter paranoid silliness. Anyone who believes this has a serious problem with paranoia.

“…can you explain to me why Obama is keeping just about every viable foreign defense policy laid down by Bush?”

He’s not. He’s already closing GITMO, reviewing for reversal ALL of Bush’s executive orders for potential reversals, altering our foreign policy stances, making plans to withdraw most of the forces from Iraq, beef up the forces in Afghanistan, and on and on. You are either lying or ignorant making that statement.

“Are saying that we should not be fearful?”

Fear is a waste of time. We should be aware and act accordingly.

“Are you being a perfect example of the appeasing crap mentioned in the post and Judea Pearls post that will get us all killed?”

The whole “appeasement” argument is a sleazy rewrite of history and completely inaccurate.

“Your ideological bigotry is what will kill this country long before any institutionalized or corporate failure will.”

Progressive liberals have brought almost every advance in the history of our society, including it’s inception. Conservatives do nothing but profiteer and hold back progress.

“Your changing of our rights, our speech, our government to the point that we fail just as has every socialistic endeavor in the past has.”

Name one. Name one failed “socialist endeavor.” Name one changed right. Go ahead. And tell me, what other rights would you like to do away with?

“Right now the hatred for corporate America we see coming from socialistic nut jobs is taking a path that if left to progress will destroy the very fabric of our economy.”

Yeah right. It’s easy to blame the little people while clinging to the skirt of the corporatocracy, huh Micky? What will hurt them, Micky? The Ledbetter act? Someone keeping them from collapsing from all their incompetent mismanagement? The only problem with the corporatocracy today is that the Baby Boomers and Gen Xer’s are too stupid to run a corporation.

“Yes, so you must be the devil since it is you who are trying to convince us there is no such thing.”

LOL! Yeah, that’s the insipid circular logic of religion for ya’!

“Your claim to be so intelligent is also challenged when you think you can convince people that something that can neither be proven or disapproved does not exist.”

I don;t have to prove anything, Micky. You do. I’m not the one asserting that something is. You are. If something is, then prove it. Proving a negative is next to impossible. Asking someone to prove a negative is just plain sleazy.

“This is the type of thinking that led to 911 and all the attacks before it reared its head and became the evident problem that it always was.”

No. What lead to 9/11 was crooked American economic colonialism and lack of security at the airports because the cons are too beholden to the private sector to intervene in matters of national security. Colonialism and Laizzez faire governance lead to 9/11.

    JMJ

  11. Micky 2 says:

“Micky, Cndy Sheehan is among a majority of people in America and around the world who, at least now, believe the war in Iraq was completely unnecessary war, a crooked colonial adventure, and certainly in no way worth the tremendous costs. That is not “hatred.” It’s just plain good sense. ”

That does absolutley nothing to refute the fact thather son did not feel the same way.
And what you and trhe rest of those idiot moonbats thinks is irrelevant becauise the war is paying off for millions of Iraqis and americans.

“He’s not. ”
No, you are lying and ignorant.
Because gitmo is the only policy hes reversing.
I said “just about every viable foreign policy”
    You only mentioned one. Gitmo.
Giotmo is a joke maneuver only meant to blow smoke up the rears of followers like you who need some think to suck on for a while.
It will be years before it closes until the detainees inside are dealt with and placed.
Until you can say where they are going… ITS A JOKE !!!
    Second of all.
How bout this to further nail your butt full of denial into oblivion, what do you think about this story??

    http://www.latimes.com/news/la-na-rendition1-2009feb01,0,7548176,full.story

Since you probably wont go there,, allow me to quote from it:

“Under executive orders issued by Obama recently, the CIA still has authority to carry out what are known as renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States.”

What? How can it be? Rendition programs were considered “fascist” black helicopter BS according to the left, how could the messiah continue such a program?

“The European Parliament condemned renditions as “an illegal instrument used by the United States.””

Illegal instrument!?! No way! Why would Obama want to use an “illegal instrument”, I mean terrorism really isn’t that big deal according to the you and your buddies why would Obama want to continue such an illegal an inhumanely disgusting program??

“But the Obama administration appears to have determined that the rendition program was one component of the Bush administration’s war on terrorism that it could not afford to discard.”

Whoa, could that be the enlightened messiah saying “Bush was right!” about renditions?
    Sure looks like it !!!!!!!!!!!

We have the CIA, we have the FBI, “There’s no need to go to war against as tactic. It’s just plain stupid.”

    No, your being plain stupid.
Those institutions are designed primarily to gather intelligence and in confrontations are not designed to combat something of such a large magnitude.
Anyone who thinks we can send the FBI or CIA over seas to fight these guys is a stock raving full blown idiot of the highest caliber.
I can just see them now running around id the Afghan hills.
How stupid is that ? We would have te recruit just as many as we already have in the military.
    Wise up !!!

“Fear is a waste of time. We should be aware and act accordingly.”

More raw stupidity based on ideological ignorance.
As a practicing martial artists for 30 years now I can tell you that your clueless in that dept.
Fear is the one thing you must always maintain, or your opponent gains no respect and deserved attention that keeps you from being killed.
Lack of fear is the breeding ground for complacency.
    Thats when people die.
Any military strategist will tell you that your logic is not fit to grow mushrooms in.

“The whole “appeasement” argument is a sleazy rewrite of history and completely inaccurate.”

Prove it, you say it as fact.
Oh ! because the great one says so ?
No, its you who would like to not only re write history but you are re wriying the english language in trying to do away with the term “war on terror”
It your breed in the future and right now who will try to call what has happened as something else.
Next week it will be “the war on people we dont agree with”

“Name one. Name one failed “socialist endeavor.” Name one changed right. Go ahead. And tell me, what other rights would you like to do away with?”

I did not say any of them have turned right. But we as a country have recovered from such attempts in our history, most memorable was the new deal as an example of a socialistic endeavor failed.

“Yeah right. It’s easy to blame the little people while clinging to the skirt of the corporatocracy, huh Micky? What will hurt them, Micky? The Ledbetter act? Someone keeping them from collapsing from all their incompetent mismanagement? The only problem with the corporatocracy today is that the Baby Boomers and Gen Xer’s are too stupid to run a corporation.”

Its easy to blame a bunch of good for nothing do nothing bums who just want hand outs.
Trust me, I sleeep very well telling them to go screw themselves.
If you can tell me of one instance where huge government spending solved a depression/recession then I’ll swallow that crap.

“LOL! Yeah, that’s the insipid circular logic of religion for ya’!”

Hey Pee wee Herman, is that you best return on that ?
You set it up and walked right into it.

“I don;t have to prove anything, Micky. You do. I’m not the one asserting that something is. You are. If something is, then prove it. Proving a negative is next to impossible. Asking someone to prove a negative is just plain sleazy. ”

I asserted nothing. Saying you “know” something doesnt exist when you cant prove it is the epitome of idiocy
You can just make sh*t up jersey when your argument starts to fall apart and look like kindergarten babbling .

    Heres “YOUR” assertion;
“There is no Devil, Shooter. No Santa Claus, no Tooth Fairy, no God, no returning Jesus, no Heaven, no Hell, no Superman, no Bugs Bunny, no Bigfoot, no Godzilla. ”

You made the claim. Do you know this for fact ?
    You prove it.
I am not trying to convince anyone of anything.
    But I’ll say this.

If I’m wrong, according to you, nothing will happen to me. Right ?
If you’re wrong, and I’m right, you’re in deep Kim Chee.

“No. What lead to 9/11 was crooked American economic colonialism and lack of security at the airports because the cons are too beholden to the private sector to intervene in matters of national security. ”

Hmm… sounds like Clinton was a con ?

    Nice try buddy.
but the bottom line is this.
Your party is responsible for the deaths of thousands at the hands of terror and right now with the environment you are setting up we are looking at the exact same thing that led to the attacks in the first place.

    You guys never learn.
you always want to re visit failure

  12. Clinton was a bit of a con, yes. He certainly wasn’t all that liberal or progressive.

These posts are getting too long. Let’s stick to one or two things.

Obama is seeking a 10% cut in defense spending by 2010. He’s closing GITMO. He has ordered the closing of all the secret CIA prisons. He has banned torture. He has opening communications with the Middle East and begun a new era of open dialogue. True, he has yet to end reditions, stop hiring defense lobbyists, and end contracting with companies like Blackwater, but he’s only been in office for a couple of weeks. So we’ll have to see what comes with more time. But all this is still a dramatic reversal from the Bush administration’s policies.

As for “my party,” let me know when they start one so I can join it.

I used to work for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. In the aftermath of Daniel Pearl’s murder, the family organized world wide memorial concerts dedicated to peace. I think it was called Daniel Pearl Music Days, but I could be mistaken. Either way, it was a fitting yearly memorial to a good writer and a violonist.

As for the situation in the Middle East… if you take a completely “random” date in history, the commonly acknowledged birthdate of Jesus, 0CE, and then add up all the days and months of total world peace we’ve had since then, it turns out the world has been without war for about a year and a half. And genocide is nothing new- 1000 years ago, Olaf Trygvasson, King of Norway, began a policy of killing anyone who refused to convert to Christianity. He completed 1000 years of exterminating Europes indiginous native religions. All the native religions and their followers were wiped out completely. Those who refused to bow before the White Christ.

America tried to do the same with the Native Americans. Same with Germany.

As for the current situation… there have been many, many attempts at peace. While I do wish this were possible, history has shown that different tribes do not live together in peace, especially when religious zealots like Bin Ladin or Trygvason are in charge.

I don’t know what the solution is to the crisis in the Middle East. Cease fires are not working, and I do not wish to see the launch of Nukes. Maybe America and the rest of the world should turn our backs and let Israel and Palestine duke it out until they shake hands or kill each other.

Either way, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Pearl Family. May Daniel find a home with his ancestors and his God, and may his family know peace, and one day justice.

“Only a fool believes in good and evil.”

It appears Jersey Mcwhatever likes the “sound” of his/her own “voice”. I am not going to bother to debate line by line all the claptrap they wrote. Why give them just more opportunity to spout their inane declarations?

Just as academics at UCLA have the comfort of discussing philosophy ad nauseum, with no dire life-threatening consequences – yet – so too does Jersey enjoy the luxury of such vomiting of absurd proclamations.

Like Eric, I would give more credence to Daniel Pearl’s father than most.

I KNOW Daniel Pearl recognised the evil in his executioners. And, despite ignorance to the contrary, what happens in Israel very much affects all of us. I am guessing that Jersey hasn’t read any of the doctrine of Hamas or Al Qaeda et al. Their stated goal is to rule the world. Period. Just as Hitler wanted to rule the world, so too do the Islamic terrorists today have that as their mandate. Maybe step away from that keyboard once in a while there Jersey, and do a little reading.

You may learn a thing or two that would give you pause before you spew novel length nonsense here or anywhere else.

Daniel Pearl’s family remain in my thoughts and YES! Prayers. I will be posting this, and linking to you, Eric. Thank YOU!

“Obama is seeking a 10% cut in defense spending by 2010.”

In the present environment it will increase.
What fool on earth believes that any cost of anything will go down when a pol says it will ?
And then theres all the saber rattling going on since he came to office.
Defense spending will go up in one year, Ill bet on it.
Just relocating and attempting to close Gitmo will be an additional cost that bhe conveniently not factoring in.
And since there is really no clear cut plan as to how he will close Gitmo, I doubt he is “closing it” but rather just starting to try to even figure out where to start.
Already the generals adjacent to Gitmo are telling him to get screwed.

Closing Gitmo, saying he’ll cut defense spending, and saying hes banned torture is all bulls**t to keep the looney left at bat. Thats all it is, hot air, posturing to make it look like hes keeping promises while doing really, nothing.
If hes banning torture then why is he still allowing renditions, secret abductions and transfers of prisoners to countries that cooperate with the United States. ?
    Please, wise up.

“He has opening communications with the Middle East and begun a new era of open dialogue. ”

Yea, The North Koreans are readying their missiles, the Iranians are calling us passive, bragging on nukes and firing off satellites, Russia is declaring missile defense is over and the Europeans are in need of Russian gas, Pakistanis says no more drone attacks and then our friends the Indians say “shut up” about Kashmir and the Europeans order no more “buy American” while Hamas just keeps on keepin on launching missles at Israel
Sure jersey, that dialogue is working real swell, isnt it ?

“As for “my party,” let me know when they start one so I can join it.

Well, you said you voted for Obama, so, leave it at that.

Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Independents, Greens, Libertarians and then theres the Obamanites who kinda just call themselves whatever they need to be at the time.

  17. Alice says:

I do not share Dr. Pearl’s forgiving attitude toward the people who brutally murdered his son; nor do I share his “out of touch” fantasies about the possibility of reaching peace and understanding with terrorists. Sadly, Daniel Pearl’s death was NOT “a turning point in the history of man’s inhumanity to man”. It has not become, as Dr. Pearl naïvely hoped, “an embarrassing relic of a bygone era.” Instead, Daniel’s brutal murder vividly illustrates the barbarism of a savage people with whom civilized nations will never be able to reason, negotiate, or achieve any sort of compromise. If open dialogue, sit-down talks or any other diplomatic efforts worked, western nations would already have succeeded in reaching an understanding with Muslims, because we have been doing it for decades!

In case anyone has forgotten…..Daniel Pearl was a mainstream journalist, a left-wing reporter who set out to give terrorists an opportunity to present their side of the story. His abductors rewarded his efforts by humiliating him, beheading him and then chopping off his limbs. It didn’t matter to his abductors that he was a peaceful man who sympathized with their situation and offered them a way to tell their story. All they saw was a Jew, and their obsessive hatred for Jews leaves no room for peaceful solutions.

Dr. Pearl may someday arrive at the inevitable conclusion that, even after he has forgiven his son’s murderers for their unforgivable crime, they will still hate him and they will still want him and every other Jew dead. Until he accepts that, he will be living in a world of fantasies and dreams.

  18. Airmotor says, “I don’t think there is any way out without nukes. When Israel turns their desert into glass they will find a new religion!”

Me thinks a certain Airmotor needs to look at a map of the Middle East. If Israel “nukes” the Palestinians, they’ll be turning their own desert into glass.

Brat, do you actually have a counterpoint? I can’t find it anywhere. Who the heck cares if they want to rule the world? I want to rule the world too, but I don’t think we need to go to war with me to prevent it. Everybody wants to rule the world (God, I hate that song). What they want and what they can do are two entirely different things. Now us, on the other hand, we can rule the world more than any other nation on the planet. And that’s what gets us in so much trouble. We want to rule the world and we come closer than anyone else to actually doing it. Careful with those rocks in that glass house of yours, the aptly monikered “Brat.”

I know you must be among that camp that wants Obama to “fail,” Micky, in that you’re hoping he keeps as much of the Bush legacy alive as possible, but let’s face it, the Dems have the Hill and the White House, things are going to change whether you like it or not. Two weeks in and things are changing already. Two years in and we’ll all start forgetting about the miserable failure that was Bush and the late GOP one-part state.

Alice, time changes everything. When the West was bogged down the Dark Ages living like dogs in the woods, the Islamic world was in it’s glory days, advancing culture, knowledge and progess. Just a couple generations ago, Western Christians were massacring Jews by the millions, while Jews lived in relative peace in the Islamic world. It’s not about their religion, or some innate cultural flaw, it’s just this particular time in the history of that part of the world hasn’t been so kind to them. Eventually they will pull out of this, and my best guess is that will begin the day the oil starts running out. That I would bet on.

Not all nukes are designed to obliterate everything whithin a 1000 mile radius. There are quite a few different kinds of nukes with different applications.
Some can be regional with more blast than fallout or vice versa.
They can be designed to take out an entire city such as LA or a much smaller area.
The mushroom cloud taking out an entire country in one sweep is fearmongering propoganda put out by moonbats.

“We want to rule the world and we come closer than anyone else to actually doing it.’

We do ? And you know this how ?

If it were true I’ll leave you with the choice of an oppressive blood thirsty dictatorship with forced religion or a free and democratic rule.

“I know you must be among that camp that wants Obama to “fail,” Micky, in that you’re hoping he keeps as much of the Bush legacy alive as possible,”

Not really, much like Rush I want his economic policies to fail and if he imposes too much moonbattery foreign policy I want that to fail as well only for the safety and prosperity of my country.
I’m not vindictive andhateful like you who wants failure on Bush to represent a lesser man”
You want people to fail just so you can say “I told you so”
I want Obamas socialistic attempts at our econmy to fail.
And I sure as hell dont wish for Americans to die so I can say “I told you so”

” but let’s face it, the Dems have the Hill and the White House, things are going to change whether you like it or not.”

Gee, you’re a genius. I never would of come up with that on my own, thank you.

” Two weeks in and things are changing already.”

Yea, I already pointed out to you what a success that has been.

“Two years in and we’ll all start forgetting about the miserable failure that was Bush and the late GOP one-part state.”

If you would pull your BDS out of your rump for one minute you would remember that I have always said that any “one party state” is never good , more bad behavior, which is EXACTLY what we are seeing now does not warrant more of it.
Your delision that a dem one party state is somehow the only thing that will fix what you call mistakes on Bushs part are about as close to a kindergarten logic as it comes.
Right now I dont see anyone thinking about any failures on Bushs part.
As a matter of fact all I hear is how Obama is making mistakes that were proven to be mistakes and bad applications long before Bush was even an adult. Also, everyone is focusing on the major blunders “HE” is making as we speek and not really talking much about GWB at all.
Simply said, there is nothing for people to get over, or forget.
In addition i’ll say that in two years as opposed to your prediction many on the left will begin to see just how wise and full of foresight Bushs policies were.
Even Obama is beginning to realize that Bush had some pretty good ideas, turning around and using them, and then claiming they’re his to start with.
Hes not applying the same taxation he said he would and I’ll even go as far as to say that before this bill gets approved it will give more breaks to corporate America that he said he would.
And only a flipping idiot wouldnt be able to see that hes kept or adopted many of Bushs foreign policies.

So go ahead, prop your little messiah up all you want. But all ,the hopechangery and prophetic speechs are turning out to be nothing in the face of the realities hes being made aware of.
He needs to drop the hope-and-change rhetoric, ignore Reid and Pelosi, drop the therapy and always catering to domestic miseries with over sympathetic statements.
Every speech is always laced with ” the poor single mother who can buy diapers and bla bla bla you know ? Loose the campaign rhetoric already.
Hes probably going to come to the view that the world is not misunderstood by us who are dumber than him but actually pretty freaking dangerous like weve been trying to tell him all along.

If he doesn’t quit the messiah crap and perpetual campaign mode, and begin humbly governing, then he were going to see an exact replica of the Carter years all over again. And when he starts failing he’ll blame it on American malaise, just like Carter did, and start telling us we need to this or that while he cranks up the heat in the White House.
(wait, didnt he already do that?)

He also needs to slap that spokesperson up side the head who keeps saying ‘the most ethical administration ever”
Thats just great, but its anything but true at this point. Especially only 17 days into the whole deal. Talk about STOOPID !
In a couple years those words are going to come back to haunt him.

“it’s just this particular time in the history of that part of the world hasn’t been so kind to them.”

What planet are you from ?
That part of the world ?
If you dont realize the global contempt for Jews then it explains why you own so many bridges.
More than half the freaking UN could care less what happens to them !
