NFL 2025 Week 6 Prequel

NFL 2025 Week 6 Prequel

Thursday, October 9, 2025, 8pm

Philadelphia Eagles (-7 1/2) at New York Giants — Of course the Eagles are the far superior team who will come in enraged after blowing a 14 point fourth quarter lead for their first loss. As bad as the Giants are, the spread is too high for a road team. A garbage touchdown is realistic. Eagles win but fail to cover

Sunday, October 11, 9:30am

Denver Broncos (-7 1/2) at New York Jets — The Broncos got a big statement win last week and could be due for a letdown. The Jets are winless, but have been fighting hard. Bo Nix is solid and Denver’s defense is for real. Yet this spread is begging for a garbage touchdown. Broncos win but fail to cover

1pm

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers (5 1/2) — The Steelers are good. The Browns are bad. Yes, the Cleveland defense is good bu their offense is a mess. The Browns have played a couple good teams tough, but the Steelers have enough firepower to get the job done. Steelers cover

Los Angeles Chargers (-4 1/2) at Miami Dolphins — Nobody underachieves like the Chargers, who have dropped two straight. The Dolphins are awful and not showing much signs of life. The Chargers have a stud coach, stud quarterback, and good defense. Yet the just play down to the level of their competition. Chargers win but fail to cover

New England Patriots (-3 1/2) at New Orleans Saints — The Saints finally got a win against a bad Giants team, while the Patriots are showing improvement and toughness under Mike Vrabel. The Patriots are far from good, but Drake Maye shows cause for optimism. Spencer Rattler does not. Patriots cover

Los Angeles Rams (-7 1/2) at Baltimore Ravens — The Rams will be fighting mad after a heartbreaking overtime home loss to hated San Francisco. The Ravens have been so good for so long that it is hard to picture them as bad. Yet they have been devastated by injuries. Now Lamar Jackson seems to be out again. Sean McVay and John Harbaugh are among the best in the business, but McVay has his stars and Harbaugh does not. The spread is high for a road team, and the Ravens could circle the wagons. The Rams win close games. Rams win but fail to cover

Arizona Cardinals at Indianapolis Colts (-7) — The Cardinals should cease to exist as a franchise after blowing a double digit fourth quarter lead to previously winless Tennessee in epic fashion. The Colts are clicking on all cylinders. This game could be over by halftime. Colts cover

Seattle Seahawks at Jacksonville Jaguars (-1)— A pair of good football teams are thriving. Mike McDonald and Liam Cohen seem to know what they are doing. Sam Darnold and Trevor Lawrence can sling it. There is not much of a home field advantage in Jacksonville. Nevertheless, Trevor Lawrence is finally showing why he was the top overall pick a few years ago. Travis Etienne is still a monster back. Jaguars cover

4pm

Dallas Cowboys (-3) at Carolina Panthers — The Cowboys have been a major disappointment, but the Panthers are far from special. With all the weapons Dallas has, Jerrah should blow up the team for the insurance money if the Cowboys fail to win this game. Cowboys cover

Tennessee Titans at Las Vegas Raiders (-4 1/2) — Both teams are awful, but the Titans were gift-wrapped their first win by an Arizona team that should never play football again. The Titans know they were gifted that win. The Raiders have been awful. Should they win this game easily? Yes. Will they? No. They’ll get in their own way as they always do. Raiders win but fail to cover

San Francisco 49ers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3) — Both teams are 4-1 and the Buccaneers are the 2025 Cardiac Kids. All 4 of their wins came in the final minute. The 49ers are coming off a big emotional win at the Rams.  There is no home field advantage here, but Baker Mayfield is playing lights out. This could come down to the final play, which both teams seem to do. Buccaneers cover

Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers (-14) —

8pm

Detroit Lions at Kansas City Chiefs (-2 1/2) — Two years ago the Lions went into Kansas City and shocked the Chiefs. The Lions will not be sneaking up on anyone this year. The Lions offense is clicking on all cylinders while the Chiefs offense has been inconsistent. The Chiefs will be angry after a last second loss to Jacksonville, but he Chiefs are not as feared as in years past. That could be a mistake, but Dan Campbell goes all out all the time. Upset special, Lions win outright

Monday, October 12, 7pm

Buffalo Bills (-4 1/2) at Atlanta Falcons — The Bills were struggling to beat bad teams and then fell to New England. The Falcons are another team that is beatable. There is not much of a home field advantage here either. The Bills should win, but they are not blowing teams out. Bills win but fail to cover

8pm

Chicago Bears at Washington Commanders (-4 1/2) — Last year it took a Hail Mary miracle to launch the Commanders on their way to the NFC Title Game while ruling what had started as a good bears season. The Bears won last week by playing a dumber and more inept team than they are. The Commanders are the far better team and the return of Jayden Daniels should cement this win. Commanders cover
