NFL 2026 Week 7 Prequel
Thursday, October 22, 2026, 8pm
New England Patriots at Chicago Bears (-3) — 41 years after the Bears won their last Super Bowl in a blowout, it is the Patriots who are the defending conference champions. Yet Caleb Williams is back. This is a chess match between offensive mastermind Ben Johnson and defensive chess master Mike Vrabel. Both teams have good defenses. This is a game to go with the home crowd. Bears cover
Sunday, October 25, 9:30am
Pittsburgh Steelers (-3 1/2) at New Orleans Saints in Paris, France. The NFL decided not to move this game despite serious political violence and instability in France. The Saints are practically French, being from the Bayou. This comes down to Aaron Rodgers playing better than Tyler Shough. The Steelers offense has not truly been in a rhythm but neither have the Saints. In a close game, trust Chris Boswell. Steelers win but fail to cover
1pm
Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens (-3) — Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson both know how to light it up. Both teams have good defenses. Obviously King Derrick Henry is all world. Home field is not a big deal in this series. Henry should be the difference. Ravens cover
Cleveland Browns (-1 1/2) at Tennessee Titans — The Browns are in this place. You read that correctly. The Titans finally won a game. The Browns have the better defense. They will stay on top for one more week. Browns cover
Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings (-6 1/2) — The last time these teams played, Jeff Saturday was the Colts interim coach. The Colts led 33-0 at halftime and somehow lost 39-36. The Vikings comeback was the biggest comeback in NFL history, surpassing former Colts head coach Frank Reich’s 32 point comeback when he quarterbacked Buffalo. This year the Colts just lost to previously winless Tennessee, costing General Manager Chris Ballard his job. The Vikings are unbeaten but their defense has to do all the work since their offense does very little. That alone makes the spread too high. Vikings win but fail to cover
Miami Dolphins at New York Jets (-4 1/2) — Forget that both of these teams are awful. The spread is too high in a battle of bad teams. The Jets defense should do enough. Jets win bu fail to cover
New York Giants at Houston Texans (-10) — Jameis Winston was awful as the Giants fell behind by 24 points at home to lowly New Orleans. They got within 7 but still lost. The Texans have won two straight after an 0-4 start, upsetting Jacksonville. As wretched at the Giants are, the spread is too high, Texans won but fail to cover
San Francisco 49ers (-3) at Atlanta Falcons — The 49ers are unbeaten. The Falcons were looking much better with Michael Penix but reverted to form last week at home against Chicago. The 49ers are in Super Bowl mode. With home field and weather not an issue, the 49ers have too much talent on offense and defense. If they get a lead early, they can take Bijan Robinson out of the game. 49ers covered
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers (-3 1/2) — The Buccaneers are 1-5 while the Panthers are quietly play8ing good football. Whether Baker Mayfield returns or not, the Buccaneers are just playing bad football. Chuba Hubbard should run to set up the play action passes for Bryce Young. The extra half a point makes any bettor nervous, but the Buccaneers are out of sync. Panthers cover
4pm
Denver Broncos (-4 1/2) at Arizona Cardinals — The Broncos are good and the Cardinals are terrible. Home field and weather or non-factors. Bo Nix should have his way with the Arizona defense. The Denver defense should overwhelm Arizona’s anemic offense. Broncos cover
Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions (-3) — The Packers have finally gotten their offense going after a miserably sluggish start to the season. The Lions offense remains potent but inconsistent. The Lions have not fixed their defense. This is a rivalry where home field often does matter. Inside the dome, Jared Goff should be able to keep the track meet pinball offense going. Lions cover
Los Angeles Rams (-4 1/2) at Las Vegas Raiders — The Raiders won three games against terrible teams and lost three games against legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Rams were a preseason Super Bowl contender but have been very uneven. Kling Kubiak as offensive coordinator outdueled Sean McVay in last year’s NFC Title Game. However, the aiders have zero home field advantage and have lost their last two home games. Outside of one blowout, the Raiders have been competitive. The ams just have too much talent. Rams win but fail to cover
8pm
Kansas City Chiefs at Seattle Seahawks (-2 1/2) — The Chiefs are unbeaten and thinking Super Bowl. The defending champion Seahawks are only 3-3, but the 12th man shows up. Kenneth Walker won a ring with the Seahawks last year but this year is running wild for the Chiefs. Go with the home crowd and the Dark Side. This is the week the Chiefs unbeaten season ends. Seahawks cover
Monday, October 26, 8pm
Dallas Cowboys (-4 1/2) at Philadelphia Eagles — The Cowboys have no defense and last week their offense took the night off as well. Yet the Eagles are a mess. Jalen Hurts is lost for the season and questions are swirling about how us serious blood clot condition was handled. The Eagles have lost four straight games. The spread is high for a road team that cannot stop anyone, but the Eagles season is over. Cowboys win but fail to cover
