NFL 2025 Week 7 Prequel

NFL 2025 Week 7 Prequel

Thursday, October 16, 2025, 8pm

Pittsburgh Steelers (_5 1/2) at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, October 19, 9:30am

Los Angeles Rams (-2 1/2) at Jacksonville Jaguars — A pair of good football teams are facing off in London. The Jaguars have a fan base there, but home field is not really a thing in this game. Jared Goff and Trevor Lawrence are both superstars, but in a  close game go with Sean McVay’s creativity. Rams cover

1pm

New Orleans Saints at Chicago Bears (-4 1/2) — The Saints are terrible. The Bears have quietly won back to back games by one point margins. Caleb Williams is finally getting help. The Bears are far from impressive but at home against a Saints team bereft of talent should allow the Bears to win their third straight. bears cover

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs (-12 1/2) — The Chiefs are only 3-3 but they won big last week against Detroit. The Raiders won last week, but beating Tennessee does not count. The Raiders are awful. While this is a mismatch on paper, this is one of those games to throw out the records. Maxx Crosby saves his best for Patrick Mahomes. If Geno Smith can avoid dumb interceptions, the Raiders could make this game competitive. Chiefs win but fail to cover

Miami Dolphins at Cleveland Browns (-2 1/2) — Both teams are bad but the Dolphins have fractured locker room. Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat and Tua Tagovailoa tore into his teammates publicly. Tyreek Hill blamed Tagovailoa. The Browns have a decent defense. Go with the team that is staying together rather than being ripped apart. Browns cover

Philadelphia Eagles (-1 1/2) at Minnesota Vikings  — he Eagles have lost two straight, but this is the week they rebound. Carson Wentz would love to get a win against the team that let him go, but the Eagles have too many weapons. Both teams are well coached. Saquon Barkley will be the difference. Eagles cover

Carolina Panthers (-1 1/2) at New York Jets — This is the Stupor Bowl. When the Panthers were an expansion team, their first win as a franchise was against the Jets. This time it is the Jets who are desperate for a win. If Gang Green can force Bryce Young into interceptions, they have a chance. Upset special, Jets win outright

New England Patriots (-7 1/2) at Tennessee Titans — Mike Vrabel faces off against the team that fired him in a stunning move that set back their own franchise. Vrabel has already brought the same toughness to New England that he delivered to Tennessee. Drake Maye is playing better than Cam Ward. The spread is high for a road team, and the Patriots are improved but not spectacular. Patriots win but fail to cover

4pm

New York Giants at Denver Broncos (-7 1/2) — These teams met in the Super Bowl 39 years ago. The Broncos have a solid quarterback in Bo Nix and a very tenacious defense. The Giants have seen some improvement under rookie Jaxson Dart, but his recklessness could get him injured. The spread is high given that the Broncos do not blow teams out, but their defense should get the job done. Broncos cover

Indianapolis Colts at Los Angeles Chargers (-1 1/2) — The Chargers barely escaped against a weak Miami team to avoid a third straight loss. The Colts have been an offensive juggernaut and are 5-1 for the first time sine their 2009 team went to the Super Bowl. Daniel Jones has been revitalized. The chargers have the better defense, but everything comes down to whether Jonathan Taylor can run enough for jones to remain Danny Dimes. Upset special, Colts win outright

Washington Commanders (-1 1/2) at Dallas Cowboys — Both of these teams have underachieved this year and regressed. Jayden Daniels and Dak Prescott can both move the ball. Neither team has been good on defense. home field does not really matter in this rivalry. The Commanders are coming off a bitter loss where they literally fumbled the game away. Go with the better team on paper. Commanders cover

Green Bay Packers (-6 1/2) at Arizona Cardinals — The Cardinals are awful while the Packers are good. Yet Kyler Murray is not a scrub. Jordan Love should be able to peas the Packers past the Cardinals, but the spread is high for a road team in a game that is not an obvious blowout. Packers win but fail to cover

8pm

Atlanta Falcons at San Francisco 49ers (-2 1/2) — Both of these teams are up and down. The Falcons are a much better team at home than on the road. Michael Penix has shown flashes of brilliance. Mac Jones has filled in ably, but the return of Brock Purdy should help the 49ers. More importantly, the 49ers get George Kittle back. A healthy 49ers team is a loaded 49ers team. 49ers cover

Monday, October 20, 7pm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions (-5 1/2) — The Buccaneers are 5-1 and a legitimate contender. Despite losing at Kansas City, the Lions are as dangerous as ever. The Lions will be angry at home. Baker Mayfield and Jared Goff both put a ton of points on the board. The Buccaneers have played cardiac games all year. Go with the home field, but in another nail-biter. Lions win but fail to cover

10pm

Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks (-3 1/2) — The Texans have had some tough losses this year while the Seahawks will be angry at home after losing a track meet against Tampa Bay. Sam Darnold is throwing it at will. Go with the 12th man against an inferior team. Seahawks cover
