Pakistan After Pervez Musharraf

For those in America spending every waking moment wondering whether Barack Obama will tap Joe Biden to form an “All Gasbag Ticket,” dealing with the many children that make up the demagoguic party will have to wait. Real world events take precedence, which relegates Paris, Britney, and Obambi to the sidelines.

Pervez Musharraf stepped down as President of Pakistan.

American liberals can now rejoice. A staunch ally in the War on Terror has been removed. If an Islamofacist theocracy gains access to nuclear weapons, liberals can be delighted in knowing that they made a difference.

Democrats running for President, who think that evil exists in our inner cities, and that America commits evil in trying to prevent it, are willing to go limp against everybody that despises America, while getting tough with those trying to work with us.

Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John Edwards were the main three nitwits running for the demagoguic nomination. Their bellicose rhetoric on Pakistan, and Musharraf in particular, accurately reflects an entire party of people that are uninformed, unrealistic, unintelligent, and determined to drive America underground.

President Musharraf was not perfect, but the alternatives were far worse. This is a man who had assassination attempts against him on a frequent basis, and yet worked with America to rout the Taliban.

The left condemns measures that forced out Saddam Hussein, a sworn enemy of America. Yet these same leftist miscreants celebrate removing Pervez Musharraf, whose only crime seems to be trying to balance helping America while not getting murdered for it.

This is the same American left that condemns thuggish tactics in other nations, while using thuggish tactics to avoid extinction as a party (Fairness Doctrine, Unions and other criminals, and ecoterrorists).

Pakistan is a complicated situation. It requires adult analysis and deliberate, measured movements. The same leftists that refer to President Bush as a Cowboy (not being bright enough to understand that he is a rancher, the complete opposite of a Cowboy) were hell bent on removing Musharraf. They did everything but yell “Gung Ho.”

Pakistan is not a situation that can be resolved with hope, change, or ‘Yes, we can.” That eliminates Mr. Obama. It cannot be resolved with tough talk from pretty boys that made their living suing people. Sorry, Mr. Edwards. 35 years of experience and solutions do not count if those solutions are completely fictional. Mrs. Clinton, just sit down.

I repeatedly refer to the republicans as the party of adults precisely because of moments like this.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons. If Islamofacist terrorists gain access to these weapons, the entire world could blow up. Do those on the left care? Of course not. Musharraf was an ally of President Bush, so he must be bad.

This is what the left calls reasoning. President Bush is evil. Therefore, his allies must be evil as well. His enemies must be good, which is why condemnation for Musharraf was not extended to Saddam Hussein or Osama Bin Laden.

The only thing we can do at this moment is pray. I pray that Pakistan remains on track to becoming a secular democracy.

Folks, if Russia and Georgia was not a 3am moment, than the alarm clock is blinking brightly and ringing loudly. It is 3am, and everything the world values is on the line.

President Bush, I hope this situation works out. I also hope for John McCain, so that at least there is a chance that serious decisions will be made.

Nice job liberals. The clock is ticking. Any blood spilled in Pakistan will be all over your hands.

Keep worrying about Darfur and global warming/cooling/climate change. Sit in a circle and sing Kumabaya.

Conservatives don’t have time for such nonsense. We have to stop nuclear weapons from getting into the hands of those trying to murder us.

We understand what true evil is. We understand that we have to stop it at any and all costs. Now we have to do it with one less ally.

Liberals, nobody is asking you to make things better. You can’t. Just sit and be quiet for once, and stop trying to get the good guys killed.

  1. “American liberals can now rejoice.”

Me thinks you ought to read a bit more variety.

I’m not rejoicing. Lots of “liberals” are not rejoicing.

“A staunch ally in the War on Terror has been removed.”

    Again, me thinks…

Just how “staunch” Musharaff really was is quite debatable.

“If an Islamofacist theocracy gains access to nuclear weapons, liberals can be delighted in knowing that they made a difference.”

Right… American liberals deposed Pervez Musharraf – they also brought Putin to power, invaded Tibet, and overthrew Mossadeq…

Unfortunately, reality dictates to realists, be they on the left or right, that the military must continue to run things in Pakistan. It’s our best worst hope. But they are not perfect allies in the war on terror. Pakistan is in a complex predicament and there are no easy answers. The demographics are such that there is no overwhelming majority of opinion there on how to deal with Pakistans problems, terrorism being but one of many. Kasmir has been heating up again, as well. A nuclear conflagration between India and Pakistan would be a disaster, and a much more likely scenario than an attack on the US or Israel directly or indirectly from Pakistan.

You’re really stretching here to bring American politics into this. We’re really not all that relevant here. The best we can do is continue to walk the narrow line between the Pakistani military and the Indian government. Liberal or conservative, Democrat or Republican, any realistic, educated pundit or pol knows this.

Me thinks you ought to shelve the partisan hyperbole on this one, Tygerrrr. It’s irrelevant.

50% of the population in Pakistan has a favorable view of Bin Laden.
50% of the population in Pakistan also believes that suicide bombing is accpeptable.
Should people with these positions and sentiments get control of any viable form of government in Pakistan, never mind a nuclear arsenal . me thinks its safe to say that Israel and America will be in some deep DooDoo.

So far Pakistani political leaders that oppose radical Islam have not been faring too well in the mortality dept. Buto has been killed, Mussharraf came damn close a few times and I fear the same for whom ever the Pakistanis elect next.
I hope these people are not as dumb as to do whet the Palestinians did with their election of Hamas and end up putting pro radical leaders in office.

    JMJ:
“You’re really stretching here to bring American politics into this. We’re really not all that relevant here. ”

We should stretch all we can.
As a result of this minimizing threats such as that statement does you underestimate the capabilities and potential for harm to Americans.
The northern half is already a nice big training camp for Al Queda as it is. Anything short of wiping that half clean is unacceptable.

You guys go ahead and shrink the threat as much as you want.
But I had better not hear a peep out of any of you if the worst should occur.

“Unfortunately, reality dictates to realists, ”

If your reality is the dirt you see from being an ostritch with your head in the ground , so be it.

“A nuclear conflagration between India and Pakistan would be a disaster, and a much more likely scenario than an attack on the US or Israel directly or indirectly from Pakistan.”

Do you really think if that happens it will stop at India ?
Oh boy ! at that point their nuclear arsenal will of doubled.

Me thinks you ought to think a bit more variety.

  3. Hey, I hear ya’, Micky. Bringing “democracy” to the Middle East at this time is about the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard of. That’s one of the main reasons I was against the invasion of Iraq. And Pakistan is even worse than that.

But the country with the most to lose should Pakistan become a theocracy is not America, not Israel – it’s India. If Pakistan did become a theocarcy, there’s a good chance India, America, and maybe even Russia and China could be drawn into a serious conflagration there.

Let’s hope the military in Pakistan keeps things together for now. In the meantime, we’ve got to get together with the other powers and try to disarm their nuclear arsenal. Pakistan is probably the most dangerously volatile place on Earth and has been for many years now. Not Iran. Not North Korea. Not Iraq (never really was). But Pakistan. It’s ashame the neocons got that so terribly wrong (as usual).

Prolonging the inevitable by minimizing it as you and the left does with your constant downplaying of real threats is not only stupid, its suicidal.
But the left wont worry because you wont see those dilusionals running to enlist when the crap hits the fan
Thats what got us 911 in the first place.
We should of finished off Saddam in the 90s. That would of freed us up today to be more effetive against Iran, Syria and the rest of the gang.
    But, thats just me.

“Let’s hope the military in Pakistan keeps things together for now. In the meantime,”

They also contain that 50% I mentioned above.

    We got it wrong ?
    hah !
Obama wants to blow up Pakistan !
And humble us in the face of evil, as he said with Warren.

    Jeeez

  5. We might have no choice but to go into Pakistan one of these days. Unfortunately we were stupid enough to waste our resources in the unnecessary invasion of Iraq. And going into Iraq, Syria, and “the rest of the gang” would have GUARENTEED a harding and further popularity of the theocratic revolutionaries in that part of the world. As usual, the neocons have learned nothing from history.

“As usual, the neocons have learned nothing from history.”

Its hard to learn anything from history when you guys keep distorting and rewritting it.
Then again, as many times as socialism. marxism and communism has failed, you guys keep trying to revive your rendition of it in many sublime forms

We have learned not to let the left handle these problems.
We always get stuck cleaning up their mess.
