Harry Reid has been under fire recently for racially tinged comments about Barack Obama.
While I want Harry Reid to resign for many policy based reasons, I do not want him to resign over this.
I have met Harry Reid. I do beli8eve he has some anger in his heart, much of it directed at Republicans.
I do not believe he is a racist. I do not believe this at all.
His comments were stupid, and he apologized for them, and that should be it.
So why is the case not closed?
Because this is not about Harry Reid.
This is about an entire political ideology called liberalism that seeks to define and demonize all conservatives as having malicious hearts.
It is called ideological bigotry.
Harry Reid is a tiny part of this cancerous growth.
Trent Lott makes kind remarks about Strom Thurmond that had nothing to do with race, and he is branded a racist and loses his job.
Rush Limbaugh sticks up for Janet Reno when John Conyers is rude to her, and Bill Clinton calls him a racist.
Dr. Laura favors traditional values, so gay groups brand her a homophobe and hound her off the air in the name of tolerance.
Nancy Pelosi compares tea party attendees to the people who murdered Harvey Milk and George Moscone, even though those killers were liberal Democrats.
Ted Kennedy said things about Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas that make me glad he is gone from this Earth.
The list is endless.
The Democrats were the party of slavery, yet it is Democrats that judge everybody by race, gender, or sexual orientation. Republicans understand that cutting taxes and killing terrorists crosses all strata.
The reason the left throws racial and other ethnic bombs is because they have no governing philosophy They can win elections, but getting bills passed into law is beyond them. As the country music song says, when you stand for nothing you will fall for anything. The only thing that unites liberals and Democrats is hatred of conservatives and Republicans.
So yes, we should let Harry Reid off the hook for this. We should criticize him on his record only. Even though he called President George W. Bush a loser and a liar, that does not mean we need to get in the gutter.
What we do is wait. The next time a conservative or Republican is made out to be a bigot, we hit back with a ferocity the left has never seen. We verbally make their ears and eyes bleed.
If somebody wants to demonize me or people I believe in, they had better have evidence.
I had to listen to eight years of George W. Bush being compared to Adolf Hitler. Dubya was called every name in the book. The left could not criticize his policies alone. They had to try and destroy the man and grind him into dust.
I refuse to do that with Harry Reid. As for the bigotry bombthrowers in the Democratic Party, you will get yours, and payback will bleed.

Trent Lott said, “I want to say this about my state. When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years either.”
Now, Lott was referring to Thrumond’s 1948 presidential campaign, when he ran as the the top of the States’ Rights Democratic Party, a Dixiecrat splinter-party who’s main platform was to protect segregation. That was pertty much it. Aside from being racists, all of them, they were progressives in almost every other way. The only issue that separated Thurmond and the rest of the SRDP from the mainstream DNC of 1948 was segregation. In fact, the whole ruckus was reaction to Truman’s integration of the military earlier that year.
Now, I ask our good host: That has “nothing do to with race”??? Really? As I always say about conservativism, it is the longing for a past that never was. Read the Lott qoute. What was he saying? That integration caused “all these problems over all these years”? That Lott and company were “proud” of voting segregationist? That the rest of the country should have voted segregationist? Our good host really doesn’t see the blatant racism in Lott’s quote? Really?
Lott never directly apologized for the sleazy speech, but rather said it was misinterpreted and that he was really talking about “communism.” It was the sleaziest pseudo-apology I ever heard.
Now, the Clinton crack at the Correspondence dinner was little snarky, that’s true. Clinton practically came out and called Limbaugh a racist, saying Limbaugh stuck up for Reno only because “she was attacked by a black guy.” Even for these roasty WHCD’s, that was little distasteful. So, Clinton apologized to Limbaugh.
And though Limbaugh has a long history of making racist statements, again, Clinton apologized to him.
Dr. Laura rails against homosexuality all the time, so it should come as no surprise that homosexuals come out (no pun intended) against her. I don;t know why this would be a urprise to anyone, let alone branded as some kind of “bigotry.” That’s just stupid. That’s like saying that one should be tolerant of intolerance to be tolerant. Just stupid.
Pelosi simply pointed out that many of the tea party protesters go waaaaaay over the top. Good for her.
Ted Kennedy expressed serious concerns about Bork and thomas. Good for him.
Reid, apparently, was sort of slamming the American people (insinuating that only a light-skinned black person could be a black president), and Obama a bit (that he puts on a fake black vernacular when it suits him) in a private conversation that was leaked to the public. It’s a little distasteful, kinda true, when you think about it, but not a very smart thing to say out loud, and so Reid APOLOGIZED. If only more conservatives had the character to apologize more often. I see no “ideological bigotry” here, but then I rarely do. I think the whole thing is a non-issue.

Joe Biden was to be John McCain’s running mate right up to the

Without the arms, Hamas is finished..in this virtually unemployable
sliver of land. It depends solely on Egypt and Israel for most of
it’s supplies..except a few grape vines and olive trees. It’s economy
is 2b a year, most coming from outside charities. It has no
natural resources except sand, lots of sand. It entices people like
London’s Galloway to protest there, and create havoc.
This is the rub. Obama is pressuring, while Hamas admits that
the fence will end it’s government over the hapless Palestinians.
Now folks, the idea IS to end Hamas, force the people to join
with Fatah (US/Israel supported) and create another small Arab state
called Palestine, with it’s people ruling themselve totally, no occupation.
Thats also has been our policy since Bush 2.

the sides involved, Egypt, Israel, Fatah, resolve their problems.

He’s added about 1.5 if I’m not mistaken, and that was only because his predecessor wrecked the state of the nation. So, not only is it a lie – it’s stupid. It’s ridiculously stupid. It makes Stimpy of The Ren & Stimpy Show look like a genius. It is so intensely stupid, I actually feel significantly dumber just having read it, as if someone had konked me over the head with a Stupid Club spiked with needles full of Novocaine. It’s a stupid, stupid, stupid lie.
Perfect example of what I’m talking about. This is exactly the kind of nonsense that gets spouted by the Teabaggers. And that’s why no seirous person takes those morons seriously. Like it or not, THAT says something.
We know what the pro-liberals will say here, and know what the
pro-Conservatives say. It’s predictable.
What matters fellow posters is not what Reid said about Obama’s blackness, or Lott said several years ago, about a similar subject,
which caused him his job.
What matters are policies, how they affect us, all of US.
Take for example the recent flap between our gov. and both
Senators (Calif). They have strongly been critical of his
charges that the Democratic legislators, lead by two Democratic
Senators, have not produced for California.
In essence, we get far less back from Washtington D.C. than we send
in taxes.
Considering California is a very blue state, as is New York, both
should reap the rewards of a huge Democratic majority. But they don’t.
One wonders where Obama and his advisers are? Are they in tune with
the needs of our state? Do they really care, now that they won the votes?
California has a high GDP than 99% of the world’s countries, with
it’s 38m people. New York State is not as high, but also is a financial
powerhouse.
Both states have huge deficits and appeal to Washington. D.C. for
“bail-outs”.
Simply put, our expenses are greater than our revenues, powerhouse
notwithstandng.
Sooooo, what is the solution? Well for starters, let’s listen carefully
to what Henry Waxman is saying. He wants a smaller reduction in
the Federal reduction of payments to be made under Obamacare.
He says that there are more people uninsured here, than in
most states..(but there are also more illegals, or people w/o
citizenship).
His formula, and the remedy of the liberal types, is to tax and spend.
It’s simple really to understand.
Tax the other (Cadillac taxes) guy, or include the other guy in the
taxes ( single people who don’t want insurance will have to join).
Now we learn that some in Wash want not groups of insurance plans
in an individual state, but in a total national system. In other words,
people can select insurance from companies who advertise and are
available nationally.
The labor unions have an argumet. They claim that wages were kept low
because their members were given higher insurance benefits.
That is the same argument the unions use about the auto industry.
The workers negotiated lower wages for higher benefits.
Then, competition from Japan and Korea ended the charade.
Maybe we should allow foreign insurance companies, and/or medical
providers to operate in the US of A.
So, we will have a bankrupt auto industry and a bankrupt
medical industry, taken over by Saudi Arabia…
I mean, they give millions to the Clinton Foundation..
And as we all know, with money comes strings.

This Tuesday the White House released their Mid-Session Review admitting they made a $2 trillion miscalculation in the size of the federal deficit that President Barack Obama’s borrow and spend policies would inflict on our nation. Heritage senior policy analyst Brian Riedl details the carnage:
While President Obama claims to have inherited the 2009 budget deficit, it is important to note that the estimated 2009 budget deficit has increased by $400 billion since his inauguration, and the whole point of the “stimulus” was to increase deficit spending to nearly $2 trillion based on the unproven notion that would it alleviate the recession.
The 22 percent spending increase projected for 2009 represents the largest government expansion since the 1952 height of the Korean War (adjusted for inflation). Federal spending is up 57 percent since 2001.
In 2009, Washington will spend $30,958 per household–the highest level in American history–and under President Obama’s budget, the figure will rise above $33,000 by 2019.
The White House brags that it will cut the deficit in half by 2013. The President does not mention that the deficit has nearly quadrupled this year. Merely cutting it in half from that bloated level would still leave budget deficits twice as high as under President Bush.
The public national debt–$5.8 trillion as of 2008–is projected to double by 2012 and nearly triple by 2019. Thus, America would accumulate more government debt under President Obama than under every President in American history from George Washington to George W. Bush combined.
