NFL 2022 Week 11 Prequel
Thursday, November 17, 2022, 8pm
Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers (-3 1/2) — The Packers mounted a furious home rally against Dallas to snap a five game losing streak, but let’s not jump back on the Green Bay Bandwagon. Aaron Rodgers is better than Ryan Tannehill, but the Titans have a very good defense. Cold weather will not stop Derrick Henry. The Titans are the better team, and cold weather is meant for hard running and defense. Upset special, Titans win outright
Sunday, November 20, 1pm
Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons (-3) — These teams have occasional flashes of good football but not often enough to be good teams. Nothing stands out on either side, so just take the home field. Falcons cover
Carolina Panthers at Baltimore Ravens (-12) — This is just a mismatch. Lamar Jackson will run wild and throw whenever he wants. The Panthers do not have the personnel to stop him. With the game at the Big Crabcake, expect Jackson to impose his will. Ravens cover
Cleveland Browns at Buffalo Bills (-8 1/2) — The Bills will be enraged after an overtime home loss against Minnesota. The Bills blew the game. They will take their frustration out on the Browns. Jacoby Brissett is competent, but the Bills defense will be out for blood. So will Josh Allen. Bills cover
Washington Commanders (-3 1/2) at Houston Texans — After an emotional win that knocked Philadelphia from the unbeaten ranks, the Commanders have to guard against a letdown. Luckily for them, the Texans are hapless. Ron Rivera is too disciplined and focused to let his players suffer a hangover. Taylor Heinecke has been playing well. The Commanders tend to play close games. Commanders win but fail to cover
Philadelphia Eagles (-6 1/2) at Indianapolis Colts — Jeff Saturday has never lost a game as head coach. He is undefeated. The Eagles are not. Now for the reality check. The Eagles are the far better team. They have too many weapons. They will be angry after a loss. A garbage touchdown by the Colts is possible. Eagles win but fail to cover
New York Jets at New England Patriots (-3 1/2) — The Jets are an improved team, but Bill Belichick lives to humiliate them. Both teams are playing good defense. Mac Jones vs Zach Wilson is a wash. The Patriots have the better running game with Raimondre Stevenson. Patriots cover
Los Angeles Rams at New Orleans Saints (-4) — The Saints are average at best, but the wheels have fallen off the Rams. The Rams offense is sputtering and the Saints have a solid defense. The Rams have the superstars, but the Saints play team defense. Saints win but fail to cover
Detroit Lions at New York Giants (-3) — The Giants are the far better team. This is the type of game that Giants fans expect their team to lose. The Lions do put points on the board but their defense cannot stop anyone. Saquon Barkley is running well and Daniel Jones is making fewer big mistakes. At home, trust the Giants to take care of business. The Lions won their first road game in two years last week. They will not win consecutive road games. Giants cover
4pm
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos (-2 1/2) — Both teams are awful. The Raiders have a terrible coach. Josh McDaniels has failed with both of these teams. The Raiders are without the injured Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow. The Broncos have a very good defense and no offense. The Raiders have blown multiple fourth quarter leads and last week lost to a coach who had never coached before. Home field has not mattered in this series. If Josh Jacobs can take the pressure off of Derek Carr, the Raiders will be able to win. The Raiders have no secondary, but Russell Wilson has regressed. Upset special, Raiders win outright
Dallas Cowboys (-1) at Minnesota Vikings — After blowing a 14 point fourth quarter lead for the first time in franchise history, somehow the Cowboys are favored against the 8-1 Vikings. Yes, the Vikings needed dumb luck to beat Buffalo. No matter, they won because Kirk Cousins, Justin Jefferson and Dalvin Cook are the real deal. Upset special, Vikings win outright
Cincinnati Bengals (-4 1/2) at Pittsburgh Steelers — Home field has not mattered in this series. The Bengals are the better team, and Joe Burrow is much more seasoned than Kenny Pickett. Burrow has more weapons. The Bengals have the better running game with Joe Mixon. The Bengals have the better defense. Throw out the records with this hated rivalry. Bengals win but fail to cover
8pm
Kansas City Chiefs (-5 1/2) at Los Angeles Chargers — The Chiefs offense is clicking on all cylinders. The Chargers are their typical underachieving selves. Patrick Mahomes has so many more weapons than Justin Herbert. Walrus Andy Reid is a much better coach than Brandon Staley. This could be a close game, but betting against the Chiefs has been a fool’s errand in recent years. Chiefs win but fail to cover
Monday, November 21, 8pm
San Francisco 49ers (-8) at Arizona Cardinals in Mexico — The 49ers had a good comeback win against the Chargers. The Cardinals beat the Rams, but the Cardinals are still a mess. Jimmy Garoppolo has been playing disciplined, while Kyler Murray tends to rely on raw talent. Deandre Hopkins can only do so much. Garoppolo has George Kittle and Deebo Samuel. The 49ers have the better defense. The 49ers win too ugly to trust a high spread for a road team. 49ers win but fail to cover
