Some people oppose everything Donald Trump says and does simply because he says and does it. Those people have no credibility.
“Orange Man Bad” is vapid nonsense. The man has gotten plenty of big things right. He is a vast improvement on his Democrat predecessors, who were bad at virtually everything. There is plenty to give Trump credit for.
Yet for those who support everything Trump says and does simply because he says and does it, stop. You do the man no favors.
The Iran deal is garbage. Anything short of regime change is garbage. Saying the deal is better than the Obama Iran deal is meaningless.
The deal is still not good enough.
Trump is making this deal to get gas prices down before the midterms. That is called politics. It will not work, but more importantly, it’s bad policy.
Additionally, Trump’s main weakness is his desperate need to be liked. He wants positive press. He craves the approval of the New York Times and CNN. He wants the Nobel Peace Prize. He refuses to accept that being a Republican automatically means being hated by the elites. They don’t give awards to Republicans under any circumstances. His refusal to understand that the left hates his guts because of his mere existence is his blind spot.
Even if the mullahs in Iran completely obey every term of the deal (doubtful), the deal is useless once Trump leaves office. At some point, either in 2028 or 2032, Democrats will retake the White House. They will then do what they always do, which is replace good policies with terrible policies. They will give away the store.
The other hated group are Jews. Given the current hostility of the Democrat Party toward Israel, they will absolutely side with the mullahs every chance they get. Even the Democrats who are not antisemites will side with Iran because they cannot support any deal a Republican President is in favor of. They hate Trump more than they like good policy.
The mullahs play the long game. They have outlasted plenty of US presidents. Stop saying “Trump is different.” That doesn’t cut it. Not even close.
The mullahs are murdering thousands of their own citizens. They will continue to do so unabated. They are madmen and monsters. They are religious fanatics who have never stopped trying to blow up the world. Any deal that leaves them in power gives them time to regroup and continue their fanatical genocidal ambitions.
The mullahs are evil. There is no good deal with evil. Any deal with the devil, the devil eventually comes to collect.
Obama’s intentions were bad, and the results were horrific. Trump’s intentions are decent, noble and good. Nevertheless, the results will be horrific.
Removing the mullahs would have made Trump a hero for the ages. Sadly, Trump didn’t finish the job. At his heart, he is a peacemaker.
With the mullahs, that will always be a recipe for failure.
