The terrorist and the apologist joined hands and started a love train.
The murderer vowed to continue murdering, and the Zionist victim interviewing him thanked the murderer for his graciousness.
The Jewish newsman gave the Holocaust denier the platform to spread his bile.
As my friend Evan Sayet has said on many occasions, Larry King Live is an oxymoron. I have said that Larry died 20 years ago, and nobody told him. Nevertheless, in the spirit of the movie “Weekend at Bernies,” Larry King’s corpse was wheeled onto the stage, where his spirit asked warm and lighthearted questions of a mass murderer.
Iranian Terrorist and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spent the day in New York attending an anti-semitic rally, known as a United Nations forum. While the world leaders did not chant about death to America or Israel, they did sit silently and allow Armageddonijad to spread his lunacy.
Armageddonijad then decided that he needed a forum to air his views where he would not be challenged. While nobody has hard evidence that Larry King ever asked Adolf Hitler if he preferred the Whopper or the Big Mac, he did have a chance to share warm fuzzies with the man who dreams of inflicting the next Holocaust.
Below is the best of the worst of the interview.
LK: “Do you like being in New York?”
He could not say he liked coming to New York. Larry never got to ask him if he preferred the Yankees or the Mets, or what he thought of the Joe Torre situation.
MA: “Hostility is not coming from our end. We want friendly relations. Hostility is one sided from American politicians.”
LK: “Are you controversial?”
Larry at that point was handed a memo indicating that water is wet, bears actually do take care of their business in the woods, and despite rumors to the contrary, the Pope is a practicing Catholic. Larry then debated whether to consult with Barbara Walters and ask her what kind of tree she would be.
Come to think of it, Armageddonijad should go on “The View.” The imbeciles can all talk and laugh together in their hatred of George W. Bush. He can let them know how terrible it is that women are oppressed in America. Joy Behar will indignantly agree at the top of her leftist lungs.
MA: “Never has the Iranian nation taken a misstep against another nation. We are for peace and are friendly with others. The only war against us was Saddam Hussein, and the U.S. supported that.”
Yes, we played both sides. I was disappointed the day the 1988 Iran-Iraq war came to an end. Thank you Ronald Reagan for keeping Israel safe, by allowing the enemies to murder each other instead.
MA: “Defending our nation does not mean we infringe on the rights of other nations.”
He could not say he was happy the U.S. took out Saddam even though he hated Saddam.
He and Palin were both mayors. How charming. He did not state he would meet with her.
MA: “The U.S. incited Saddam to attack Iran.”
The left really should give this warm furry fella a big socialist hug. After all, he keeps reciting the talking points of the Democratic Party.
MA: “Our religion teaches us to be against weapons of mass destruction. The atomic bomb has lost its use in political affairs. The bomb did not keep the Soviet Union intact. It did not help America win in Afghanistan and Iraq. Can it save the Zionist regime?”
At this point Larry King donned his Captain Obvious superhero outfit.
LK: “What do you mean by wiping Israel off the map?”
Somebody please buy the man a dictionary for his birthday. The phrase is rather literal. This is different from a less literal sentence, such as the fact that nobody watches CNN. I really did have nothing to do last night.
MK: “We oppose the Zionist regime because of peace and justice.”
I oppose the Iranian President and wish that we would shove a grenade up his hide and pull the pin while he is visiting the world’s only simian opthamologist, Bashar Assad of Syria.
He then pretended to care about the Palestinians.
MA: “Three big wars were started by the Zionist regime, the last one in 2006 when they attacked Lebanon. Our solution is a humanitarian one. The Palestinians must determine their own fate.”
LK: “Why not sit down and talk with Israel?”
Larry then taught Armageddonijad the lyrics to “Kumbaya.”
MA: “The Zionist regime is an uninvited guest in the Middle East.”
Somewhere at a violent peace rally Medea Benjamin orgasmed and ruined her new Code Pink Protester Panties.
MA: “The Apartheid regime of South Africa, The Soviet Union, where are they today? It was not talking, it was resistance. This Zionist regime is fundamentally illegal.”
LK: “You don’t want to see Israelis die. Do you?”
To think my grandfather and father escaped Nazis to see another liberal Jewish apologist share cookies and milk with a murderer of Jews.
http://hiram7.wordpress.com/2008/09/24/protesting-adolf-ahmadinejad-at-the-united-nations/
http://michellemalkin.com/2008/09/25/unholy-alliance-mahmoud-and-left-wing-religious-leaders/
MA: “When we speak of disappearance, crimes, murder, and terror must disappear. Our solution is humanitarian and democratic.”
Only a naive fool working at CNN could believe such nonsense.
LK: “Does Israel remain Israel?”
MA: “Let the people decide.”
I am a person. I decide we turn Iran and SYria into 50,000 hole golf courses.
MA: “The root cause of the problem is the others that came and harmed the Palestinians.”
This guy wants to explore phony root causes of crime. Maybe he is a liberal. I wonder if democrats would vote for him over George W. Bush. I wonder who they hate more.
MA: “We must allow for free elections in Palestine.”
We had them, and terrorists were elected.
LK: “Do you wish the Jewish people harm?”
MA: “There are Jews in Iran. Zionists are not Jewish people. They have no religion. They wear a mask of religiosity. How can you be religious and occupy lands of other people?”
LK: “Do not Zionists come from persecution?”
MA: “No one is allowed to freely discuss the history. Let more research be done on that history. Even if it did happen, it did not happen in Palestine, it would have happened in Europe. Why should the Palestinians be victimized? The Jews can be given Alaska.”
Oh good. Now we know that despite protesting to the contrary, he dislikes Sarah Palin. After all, hates Jews, and wants them to be placed in her state. This guy might be leading the current demagoguic party in secret. How come we never see Armageddonijad and Nancy Pelosi in the same room at the same time? Khalid Sheik Mohammed turned out to be Rosie O’Donnell. Stranger things have happened.
LK: “Do you have any concerns about the future of your country?”
MA: “I have no concerns. The worst thing the U.S. Government can do is attack us. Israel is much smaller. Have you visited Iran?”
LK: “I am planning to visit next year.”
Isn’t it illegal for American citizens to visit Iran? I am nevertheless thrilled that Jewish Larry King would bypass Israel, which depends on tourism, for Iran, which finances terrorizing tourists.
LK: “Do you have human rights problems in Iran? Do you deny that there are homosexuals in your country?”
MA: “God’s rules are to improve human life. In our religion, this act is forbidden.”
So is murder.
LK: “What happens to gay people?”
MA: “Are you concerned for 70 million Iranian people or a few hundred homosexuals?”
MA: “It will benefit everyone if the U.S. leaves Iraq. The U.S. must limit its excursions to the United States alone.”
LK: “If you could go anywhere, what would you like to see in this country?”
MA: “California and Los Angeles.”
Yes, the land of fruits and nuts would welcome him. Perhaps UCLA Hillel could invite him for an interfaith dinner (I attended USC).
After being asked about his family, Armageddonijad announced that he sired three future terrorists.
LK: “You don’t look old enough to have married children.”
Yes he does. Larry King has not been the same since Martha dumped him at the altar for George Washington.
Larry King found the interview “illuminating.”
The only thing that should be illuminated is the part of Tehran containing the Mullahs.
Larry then had a heart attack on stage. Armageddonijad let him die before harvesting his organs. He took Larry’s heart and lungs, had them coated in steel ball bearings, and used them as miniature bombs to be dropped on Israel. Armageddonijad then blamed the Jews for the attack since Larry is Jewish.
Ok, so I made the last part up, but it was not any more nonsensical than the idea of this interview.
The moment this animal steps on American soil, well placed sharpshooters should be ready to take him out. This man was one of the animals responsible for the taking of American hostages for 444 days in 1979. Given that a democrat was in the White House at the time, we did nothing to respond to the terrorism.
Now those on the left do less than nothing. We interview them on television and treat them like they are Hollywood Celebrities. Then again, that would explain Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins planning a fundraiser for his 2010 democratic congressional primary. Barbra Streisand will be singing for him, which might be the one thing that might make him finally crack.
Sean Hannity interviewed Ambassador John Bolton last night as well, proving that intelligent discussion does still exist, just on Fox News, not CNN.
eric
Well, I’ll say this: I have no idea why Ahmaddinejad is given such a high profile by the pols and pundits, media and international players. He has very limited powers and is not popular at home. But I’ll also say this: we have no one to blame but ourselves for what happened to Iran. It is yet another in a long line of examples of colonialism blowing back in our imperial faces. If we had not intervened and deposed Mossadegh, there’s more than a good chance Iran would be a secular democracy, rather than a reactionary theocracy, today. Once again American hegemonists and exceptionalists have made the world a worse place, and created yet another bogeyman for the paranoid Right.
JMJ
Jersey.
What are you ? Larry Kings clone ?
You read this whole article and then you go on to do exactly what King was doing.
Whatever the case Iran was not bound and commited to its form of government since Mossadegh. They have had more than ample oppotunity to turn around whatevert you claim ails it.
Unfreaking believablke.
What elkse you wanna blam America for huh ?
Everytime I look you have more negative crap to say about this country than ever if anything good.
We created no bogeyman.
Their ideology is spawned of a religion they hijacked and warped.
Your ignorance bred od haytred is amazing.
Anyway, I was rolling thru the channels yesterday and saw Latty and D*ckhead and coulndnt bare to watch.
Latty ?
I rushing out the door, sorry.
Larry King is a joke, Micky. He’s like Page Six, but without the scandal – useless celebrity nonsense. And that’s all Ahmaddinejad is – a useless celebrity. And to the paranoid Right, he’s the bogeyman – the invisible monster in the closet.
And yes, it sure as heck is our fault. The Iranians were moving toward becoming a democratic sovereign state, they wanted to nationalize their own oil, the British wanted to keep the oil but couldn’t do anything about it, the Brits came to us for help, we stepped in and arranged a coup, we installed the Shah so that the West could continue to loot the Iranians natural resources, the Iranians rightly never forgave us, the students rose up in revolution to end the Western proxy government, the Mullahs stepped into the revolution and took over, and bango here we are today.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.
JMJ
LOL. Nice debating tactic. If you don’t agree with me you’re a liar or a fool. I’m note sure I’ll use that one, but I’ll keep it in my arsenal just in case.
Note sure. Sure I meant to type that. Y’know. When you just know that the note you’re singing is correct. Note sure.
I dont need a history lesson Jersey.
You were probably being rocked by your mommy while I watched it all go down.
You conveniently missed the point that they’ve had long enough to get their act together.
But of course that what libs do.
No personal responsability, blame everyone, and demand reparations for decades.
What you’re saying is that anything they feel tthink or do is justified by some event that took place decades ago.
So I can see you sympathizing with those who carry the same mentallity.
And those students are real happy with what they got now?
Gimme a break, they were just as involved in that as anyone else.
We didnt “STEP IN ” and arrainge the coup, we assisted.
Holding a couple thousand political prisoners didnt cast a very nice light on them either.
Tell me, I expect an answer.
Does anything in the past justify what they are doing now ?
Killing our soldiers in Iraq, killing Israelis, supporting terrorism and posing a nuke threat along with all the verbal threats they launch ?
Are you seriously giving these bastards a pass ?
I also dont need you to tell me that either of them is a joke.
For some reason you had to throw that in ?
Maybe just cuz you like the sound of you banging on your chest ?
What was the point in that when I already made it clear that I couldnt even watch the two of them ?
JMJ:
“we have no one to blame but ourselves for what happened to Iran.”
Thats just an opinion.
The FACT is that they were just as much to blame as anyone.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.
“It is yet another in a long line of examples of colonialism blowing back in our imperial faces.”
We are not an empire.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.
” If we had not intervened and deposed Mossadegh, there’s more than a good chance Iran would be a secular democracy, rather than a reactionary theocracy, today.”
“CHANCE” ?
Looking at all the examples in the middle east its likely that only an arrogant liar or a fool would think that is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.
“Once again American hegemonists and exceptionalists have made the world a worse place, and created yet another bogeyman for the paranoid Right.”
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.
Joshua and Micky, that was not a debating tactic. That was the truth. That’s what happened. That is the accepted history of what happened by all parties concerned. It is fact. It is not debatable. I’ll repeat it:
The Iranians were moving toward becoming a democratic sovereign state, they wanted to nationalize their own oil, the British wanted to keep the oil but couldn’t do anything about it, the Brits came to us for help, we stepped in and arranged a coup, we installed the Shah so that the West could continue to loot the Iranians natural resources, the Iranians rightly never forgave us, the students rose up in revolution to end the Western proxy government, the Mullahs stepped into the revolution and took over, and bango here we are today.
And this certainly isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Look at Castro in Cuba, the neverending debacle that is the Philippines, the still unsettled mess in Central America… Just how much history have you guys missed anyway? Things happen for a reason, guys. This isn’t some comic book universe where arbitrary plot twists just pop up once every issue, where super heros and super villians act out their crazy adventures just for the thrill of it. Things happen for a reason. We weren’t attcked on 9/11 because “they hate our freedom” or because “they’re jealous of our prosperity.” The embassy in Iran wasn’t attacked because we were scapegoats for some misperceived injustice, or because Carter was a wimp. These incidents were reactions, just like everything else in nature. Everything happens for a reason. Newton’s laws, guys. Ya’ know?
JMJ
And still.
You cannot address the fact that no matter how you percieve history they have had plenty of time to get it right and stop blaming everyone but themselves.
You also never answered my questions.
Jersey, it is a debating technique, that you use consistantly.
Everyone is an ignorant idiot if they dont agree with you.
“The embassy in Iran wasn’t attacked because we were scapegoats for some misperceived injustice, or because Carter was a wimp. These incidents were reactions, just like everything else in nature. Everything happens for a reason. Newton’s laws, guys. Ya’ know?”
No Jersey, those are not “FACTS” they are your interpretation of history.
As you said;
” If we had not intervened and deposed Mossadegh, there’s more than a good chance Iran would be a secular democracy, rather than a reactionary theocracy, today.”
That is an OPINION because you used the word “CHANCE”which does not give you the right to call us ignorant or idiots.
But of course.
Carter gets a pass for his idiocy, right ?
Now, answer my questions please.
Does anything in the past justify what they are doing now ?
Killing our soldiers in Iraq, killing Israelis, supporting terrorism and posing a nuke threat along with all the verbal threats they launch ?
Are you seriously giving these bastards a pass ?
Micky, I didn’t address the “plenty of time” argument because it is arbitrary and simplistic. Look at Cuba – that’s been going on for almost 60 years. The Philippines – over 100. Central America – over 150. The current Iran situation isn’t even 30 years old.
And yes, everything I said is FACT. Look it up.
JMJ
And Micky, I’m not justifying anything. I’m explaining it – putting it in context.
JMJ
Jersey-
It seems that you are justifiying crazy religious terrorists attacking the U.S. because of our ‘imperialistic’ foreign policy. So it is our fault, not the fault of lunatics that want to kill everything that is not Muslim?
I am though, an isolationist. I would like to see our borders fenced and mined. Going in or out you will be shot. No more free food and Aids help to countries that hate us because it’s the popular thing to do. The rest of the world can burn and we can watch them kill each other off for all I care.
With maybe one exception.
And yes I know isolation is bad for the economy.
Hey, Jersey, I’m not disputing the facts. I was just laughing at the way you felt the need to pre-emptively shut down anybody’s opposition with name calling. You’ve made fervent arguments for your points before and I was attempting, through humor, to point out that it was unnecessary to throw that line in there. If your argument is strong it will stand up to critique. If it is unassailable then the critic will end up looking foolish without any need for you to point it out.
On a personal note, my mom made a similar statement a decade ago. With no chance of having my words listened to I felt no need to say anything. That kind of statement doesn’t strengthen your argument. It only makes people ignore what you’re saying.
Infidel,
All I’m saying is that the way we’ve approached some of these international issues in the past has only made things worse for all concerned. And you proved yourself wrong if think these people really care any more about the non-Muslim world than you apparently care about the non-US world. People are people. They’re the same everywhere. We were most certainly NOT attacked on 9/11 because they “hate our freedom” or “want to kill everything that is not Muslim” – nobody thinks like that (well, 99.9999% of people don’t think like that and the proof is in that fact that we all haven’t killed each other yet). They attacked us because we had a military presence and back despots on their soil. The authoritarian theocrats, much like here in America, have taken the mantle of populists out to free the victimized people from the elitists, in their case monarchs and juntas. It’s a lie, of course, but many of the people have fallen for it, just as many Americans have fallen for the same shtick here.
And no, isolationism is not in and of itself “bad for the economy.” That’s a simplistic understanding of economics.
Joshua, okay, fine, make an argument and knock of the critique of my style. It’s annoying. I hate it when people argue style instead of substance. It’s like the guy who keeps repeating “let me say something” but never actually says anything other than “let me say something.” ;)
JMJ
Jersey, you made my point for me.
Cuba, Iran etc have all had plenty of time to change their policies and structure.
And I have looked it up and there are many ways to approach the facts which is all you are doing when you say there is a “chance.
Also when you use the opinion that Carter was not weak you are opening yourself to a huge gap in interpretation. NOT FACT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is a more common belief that he was weak and to blame for the sentiments Iran has towards us.
Its a much larger and well accepted belief than yours. FACT !
And just how stupid do you think everyone is ?
Of course you’re justifying it !!!!!
Crust o mighty you said it was our fault and at the same time not one word of condemnation came out of you.
Yea right.
Its our fault they always hated Americans and were/are a bunch of rabid antisemites.
Please, give it a rest.
Your argument is foolish.
Its like saying if a black man nuked the states he would be justified because of what happened 200 years ago
JMJ;
“Joshua, okay, fine, make an argument and knock of the critique of my style. It’s annoying. ”
” hate it when people argue style instead of substance. ”
ARE YOU SERIOUS ???
That remark had no substance and showed an style more like that of snobbery and a superiority complex.
And you rarely have anything of any substance to back up your claims except for your opinion.
Micky, how the heck do you know how much time it takes to do anything? I’m sorry but this whole “time” argument of your’s is purely subjective, arbitrary and inane.
And it may be “more common” to believe that somehow Carter was to blame for the fall of the Shah, but that just goes to show how geopolitically illiterate most people really are.
And Muslims were not always against us or the Jews. That’s just more historical illiteracy.
And again, I’m not justifying anything, just pointing out that our cures are often just more cause for the disease.
JMJ
Jersey,
Correct, we have had defense treaties with Saudi Arabia for what, 60 years now. Ridiculous. And I think we have both traveled a lot, but probably only a small portion of same-countries and met people say that they like Americans, it’s the govt they don’t like. I think all of those presidents since 1898 have thought “it’s the right thing to do”. There is maybe some intial appreciation and thanks but then a lot of these countries want to be left alone, understandably. But then the next prez feels that we can’t just let the people in Kenya starve.
And my economics are simple. I teach ‘one shot one kill’.
Snowball effect-
We have enough and the ability to help the poor guy, so we always assume we are doing the right thing. It just keeps sinking.
Infidel, if we really cared all that much about starving there wouldn’t be all that much starving. It’s not starving we care about – it’s money. Do you think we’d have invaded Iraq if they had no oil? Do you think we’d have invaded Vietnam if we didn’t want cheap labor? Central America, bananas? Cuba, sugar? Panama, a canal? Sure sometimes we act in good faith, as in WWII, Kosovo, Korea – but even then, don’t you think we have further interests at stake? I will never understand the naivete of those who believe that somehow liberal bleeding hearts are the movers and shakers of the world.
And what on God’s green earth do you mean by “one shot one kill” economics? Sounds kinda serial-killerish… :O
JMJ
I don’t think we assume we’re doing the right thing. I think we just tell ourselves that so we can sleep at night.
JMJ
Can you guess I’m kinda irritable today?
In a way, I almost wish we would have a depression so these people get what my parents taught me. Don’t buy it unless you have cash.
What would I lose in a crash, 50%?
Okay, down to 1.5 cars. Only the 2008 is not paid for but the Bike is.
One House. I only need one anyway for all my stuff. Big Screen, shop tools.
I am down to the last 5k of the ex’s credit debt.
Gee, I make 40 to 50k a year. How come I can make it? oh wait, I pay cash. (‘Cept for the car. New missus called crying while I was deployed so I said just go get it.)
I have a garden and land to hunt on. SS may tank, but I also have military retirement (I am at 23 years).
Depression? I WANT people to feel some pain. Just won’t be me.
JMJ:
“Micky, how the heck do you know how much time it takes to do anything? I’m sorry but this whole “time” argument of your’s is purely subjective, arbitrary and inane.”
As a student of history you should be able to use countries such as Japan, South Korea, germany etc as an example.
That argument is not arbitrary or inane. Its a fact that these countries industrialized with the rest of the world without continuing with any ahtred as we see in Iran and othger middle eastern states.
Jeez, the whole middle east and all oppressed muslim regimes are not doing too freaking well now, are they ?
With the exception of the ones that function on some level of democracy , say the Saudis, Kuwait and maybe Eygpt I doubt they can all blame us.
And as a student of history as you so proudly boast all the time you sgould know that the Muslims brotherhood hatred for Americans goes way back before we were even industrialized in the middle east. So stop apologizing for the rabid camel jockies who say its because we have a miltary presence or whatever it is that bugs them
We are welcomed by most of the governments that you say hate us.
The Saudis, Kuwait, Afghanistans ans a few others have no problem with us. But regardless of that you have to all the way back to the origins of the Muslim brotherhood to find the begginings of the jihad we are looking at now. And that ill sentiment towards us began with our support for the Jews. So spare me your history that can be seen thru a key hole.
You are the one who is goepolitically incorrect as it is a consensus amongst the majority of us who are over 50 that Carter was the worse president in history.
And it just cracks me up how you blame ALL OF AMERICA and then give Carter a pass ??????????????????
Outrageous man, just of the wall ridiculous.
When you cast blame on someone else or make excuses for peoples behavior you are justifying it.
At least on this planet.
Your portrayal of Carter makes it all too obvious and a perfect example as to why your views are so warped
“And what on God’s green earth do you mean by “one shot one kill” economics?”
I teach people marksmanship in the Military. I just happen to be an excellent teacher if you like to shoot. Especially pistol. One shot one kill conserves ammo.
“I think we just tell ourselves that so we can sleep at night”
Agreed, but I would say ‘they’ (the politicians)
“One shot one kill conserves ammo.”
Conserves energy and helps to save the planet too.
:-)
“Conserves energy and helps to save the planet too”
That’s a good double entendre and good slogan. I will start using it, if I may.
If I make any money I will cut you in.
It frightens me to think that a whole bunch of one-shot-one-killers are going to be coming home from war pretty soon. I wonder what will become of them – and the people in their way… A few years ago I was blogging with a vet. I mentioned that I believed there would be a lot of violent and dangerous psyche cases coming out of this war because unlike past wars more of our vets have actually shot and killed someone and saw themselves do it. I read that back in WWII only about 5% of the combat vets had actually shot and killed someone within their sight and that the number now was somewhere between 90-95%. The vet pointed out to me that this was apparently true and it was due to the type of training the combat troops now receive. Apparently the military has raised killing to a high art these days.
What kind of people have we become?
JMJ
Jersey,
I also notice in giving Carter a pass you conveniently ignore that a HUGE part of what happened is we stopped offering aid to the Shah and pressured him to let Khomeini back in the country. I also want to point out that one of the Shah’s biggest crimes was he let jews prosper and he was a friend to Israel. The FACTS are that while he was far from perfect, Iranians had more rights and prosperity under the Shah than any regime before or since. Having known people who escaped in the late 70s just before his fall they tell a very different story than the one you paint
I talked to those people at the time and also did a lot of research for school when it happened. So don’t tell me yours is the only valid version of events, especially now that is has been rewritten 30 years later
Parrot, what is it with you guys and connotation? When did I give Carter a “free pass?” Free pass for what? And since when did I excuse the Iranian theocrats? Where do you get this stuff from? Why is it that when someone points out what happened, you guys just can’t take it and have to twist it all up and turn it into something else? Did I excuse the theocrats? Did I say the Shah was all bad? All I said was that WE created the situation THEY have today by deposing Mossadegh. The point being: when WE intervene over THERE we make things WORSE for THEM and US. We shouldn’t A$$-U-ME we know what’s better for everyone else, and we shouldn’t A$$-U-ME that we always have everyone’s best interest at heart. You guys need to learn that lesson.
JMJ
Infidel.
If you make anything just share amongst the troops.
JMJ:
“Parrot, what is it with you guys and connotation? When did I give Carter a “free pass?” Free pass for what? And since when did I excuse the Iranian theocrats? Where do you get this stuff from?
JMJ:
“Iran wasn’t attacked because we were scapegoats for some misperceived injustice, or because Carter was a wimp.
Right there buddy.
No, you cant change it to the Iranian “theocrats” in the middle of the debate.
You were generalizing the masses and saying that had we minded our own business and not helped with the coup and etc;
Right there man, you excused them and justift there actions by saying its our fault;
]
“And yes, it sure as heck is our fault.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is an arrogant liar or completely ignorant of modern history.”
here you Jersey, spinning madly again to come another dumb thing that came out of your mouth.
We all read it, we all saw it , we are not all stupid.
For once in your life just say your sorry and quit.
And you are no one to ever talk about assuming. Its your worst habit.
Infidel – one shot, one kill… Go Green… I love it!
Jersey: Here’s the test: http://barackobamatest.com/
Eric: you were too hard on the dead man talking (LK) and too easy on the dead man walking… MA does, indeed, stand for mature audiences, and he needs to be muted. His people do not share his hatred, but there are plenty of financial opportunists who take advantage of uneducated, hungry young men…and there’s a serious “pipeline” of IEDs flowing into Iraq from MA land…
JMJ: I agree that US policy has sometimes backfired because we can’t seem to let well enough alone, and many of our actions had as much to do with monetary reasons as security, but i haven’t fallen into the apologists’ camp yet…
forgive me Eric…
Infidel: have you ever worked with SFC Malik? He was also a Sniper Instructor up until about a year and a half ago at Benning.
Micky,
“JMJ:
“Iran wasn’t attacked because we were scapegoats for some misperceived injustice, or because Carter was a wimp.
Right there buddy.”
That’s not giving anyone a “free pass!” If anything, thank God Carter was the president at the time! Imagine if it had been some reactionary rightwingnut? We’d still be there today! You can’t blame Carter for what happened in 1953. If THAT hadn’t happened, it is highly unlikely the Hostage Crisis would ever have occured in the first place. And this point doesn’t excuse anyone for anything. It’s simply a statement of obvious fact. The reactionaries would have once again intervened against the wishes of a foreign sovereign state and things would, as usual, only be worse today. Cooler heads prevailed and to this day Iran has been at relative peace with all it’s neighbors. Yes, Iran like pretty much every other Middle Eastern state has given support to the Palestinians insurgents, but other than that Iran has been at peace. It was in the end the best posible outcome of a daisy chain tat started in 1953 – heck back to the 1600’s! How would you like to be colonialized and looted?
Eagle, I’m no apologist for anyone. In fact, I’m pretty much the consummate critic of everything and everyone. All I’m trying to say here is as I said above: when we intervene over there we make things worse for them and us. We shouldn’t assume we know what’s better for everyone else, and we shouldn’t assume that we always have everyone’s best interest at heart. And add to that – we shoudn’t assume our own powers that be always have our own best interests at heart either.

I had to stop taking the test only a little ways into it, Eagle. It’s a a bunch of lies, misrepresentations, and push-questions. It’s sleazy and whoever put it together is a lowlife.

[…] Terrorist Armageddonijad Interviewed by Apologist Larry King […]
” You can’t blame Carter for what happened in 1953.”
If anything its his handling of that crisis that cost him the election so I can hardly see how most people would agree with you when most people didnt vote for him.
I’m blaming him for what took place during his term. Where did I place him in 1953 ?
Jersey, your like a little boy who got caught in a lie. And now your playing your little semantic hopscotch again.
You blamed everything that America has done as responsible for Irans reactions and actions.
You conveniently forgot to include Irans role in the coup and made sure you placed Carters name in there in order to take any heat off of him.
Now, instead of being absolutly sure as you were earlier when you were shoving your version of history down our throats as true you are moving on to phrases and words like “highly unlikely” and “good chance” which leave room for doubt and and cloud your first definite assertions.
What I noticed is that nowhere in M.A. s interview with King did he mention any of the accusations you are coming up with. And he actually seems to blame Israel for most of its problems and not the US.
So, it seems like even Ahmajinedad would disagree with you.
So far you’ve done a wonderful job at calling people a bunch of names, insulting their intelligence, and making statements that are purely speculative.
What you have not done is convinced anyone that America is to blame for the actions of Iran in the last 50 or so years.
But rather you have convinced me that your party or whoever thinks like you are nothing more than a bunch of wimps who would rather conceid in the face of evil instead of put it in its place.
JMJ;
“Eagle, I’m no apologist for anyone. In fact, I’m pretty much the consummate critic of everything and everyone.”
Another load of crap that contradicts itself.
It is your critiszems that are placing blame on the wrong party and giving a pass to the wrong party.
You do this all buy asserting your freat knowledge of history and conveniently leave out huge portions in order to paint the picture you wish to present.
“the Mullahs stepped into the revolution and took over, and bango here we are today. ”
Yea, thats it folks.
“Bango”
Take it from a student of history, thats the whole story.
” And this point doesn’t excuse anyone for anything. It’s simply a statement of obvious fact. ”
Well then, why try to take Carters whimpyness off the table ?
And address Americas involvment in the coup ?
“and we shouldn’t assume that we always have everyone’s best interest at heart. ”
I wish liberals would apply that sentiment here at home to its own people.
And yet in saying that you contradict yourself again.
You say we are the evil colonialists and yet we have everyones best interest in mind.
Are we looters or charity gone wrong ?
You say on one hand that our good intentions are sometimes not the right thing to do.
On the other hand we are evil occupiers with ulterior motives.
I guess its a matter of convenience.
Bottom line is this.
Iran has had plenty of time to put its best foot forward, kove on and get over whatever ails it.
Instead it has taken the path you see today.
Yes, it takes two to tango but you seem to leave out Americas justifications for it actions and focus on the percieved unjust only for ther Iranians.
The people in Iran , mostly the younger generation are a clear example of those who would like to move on and get over crap that happened 40 to 50 years ago. They do not agree with MA.
Which simply means that most of the people who dont care for MA or his views would most likely not agree with yours either.
Right now I’m willing to bet that a good majority of Iranians are hoping that we can contain or get rid of the madness that is taking place between the Mullahs and MA.
Once you start bringing up instances that justify someones actions you are giving them a pass and being an apoligist. Which is exactly what you were doing in your first couple of posts.
You caqn go ahead and BS yourself, thats fine.
But I can read
Whether you like it or not Jersey
“I read that back in WWII only about 5% of the combat vets had actually shot and killed someone within their sight and that the number now was somewhere between 90-95%… What kind of people have we become?”
Are you implying that we are a worse society because our troops are more fully utilized? Of course there is going to be psychological trauma for those who’ve had to kill others, assuming they have a full grasp of morality in the first place. That trauma doesn’t translate into dangerous behavior, though. My dad was in Vietnam. He came back, transferred to the Air Force and leads a happy, productive life. He seemed to become much more religious, but that’s not a bad thing. Our vets are not boogey men who will have a higher rate of criminal behavior than the society around them. What they’ve done has made them extraordinary individuals, but they’re still good Americans with unique issues to deal with just like everyone else. We haven’t become anything different from what we were before (a little lazier maybe). We’re just better at it than we used to be.
Eagle6-
The name sounds familiar, but a SFC Malecha was an acquaintance on a SMU (not AMU) committee with me so I may be confusing the two. I nay have met him if he was there in 2003.
Joshua,
“Are you implying that we are a worse society because our troops are more fully utilized?”
If by “fully utilized” you mean turning them into killing machines, then yes.
JMJ
Jersey Says-
“It frightens me to think that a whole bunch of one-shot-one-killers are going to be coming home from war pretty soon. I wonder what will become of them – and the people in their way…”
If something does make the vets have problems, maybe we can get counseling from the NBA. But I don’t think it will ever get THAT bad.
