Rush Limbaugh and the “Culture of Hate”

I need to delay my response to President Obama’s speech one more day. Dear readers, barring any other unexpected events, I will have a surprising announcement regarding the president tomorrow. Forgive the delay. One more aspect of the leftist attacks needs to be dealt with.

For those not paying attention the last few days, a 22 year old pot smoking reader of the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf killed 6 people and wounded 13 others in Tucson, Arizona. One of the victims who survived was Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Conservatives reacted to the tragedy by praying for the victims. Too many liberals decided to use the tragedy to attack conservatives. Some of these leftist miscreants attacked Rush Limbaugh.

Limbaugh has been described on the left as “spreading hate speech.” Hate speech is anything the left disagrees with. Naturally, Mr. Limbaugh took issue with being accused of facilitating murder.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2011/01/10/limbaugh-says-dems-playing-politics-with-giffords-shooting/

I have been lambasting the left for trafficking in real hate speech. Yet rather than just throw out names like Joan Walsh and Keith Olbermann, I have provided specific examples. When I call Bob Herbert and Maureen Dowd racial and sexual bombthrowers, I back it up with specific statements in context. I refer to the Jayson Blair Times and Palesimians based on direct bad behavior. I don’t just make stuff up.

So I went on the CNN website to look at who the critics of Limbaugh are. You can see all of them for yourself in the above link. I did not cherry pick. I did not need to. What I found was that if the liberals on that comment thread represent liberals, then Limbaugh’s critics are absolute basket cases.

I wanted to see them offer specific examples of bad things he did. They offered nothing of the sort. Why do they hate him? just because. That’s it. He disagrees with them, and effectively defeats their arguments.

Limbaugh does not need me to defend him. This is not about him. This is about showing the truly pathological hatred of the left, unable to back up their assertions.

Anyway, here are what the simians posing as liberal rocket scientists had to say about Limbaugh, with my comments interspersed.

Jeff Brown in Jersey–“This is a very ugly man, inside and out!”

Now that is intellect.

shadysider–“Hey Limbaugh, movies entertain. Your rhetoric incites.”

Example? None.

S.positive–“Idiot Rush, cant you put two and two together as you do everyday. You need the American Public to spell it out for you. You and your group are a DISGRACE to this country…”

He calls himself positive, and starts with an insult. Who is Limbaugh’s group? Does that include me?

a6102658–“We are we constantly admonished not to rush to conclusions”
So, why are you?…too much heat.
This exactly what I expected him to say, he makes his money by using fear.”

How? Provide an example.

Truthmonitor–“Sorry, Rushbo. Your ‘defense’ of yourself is laughable. You are very much to blame, hate-monger.”

How is he a hatemonger?

Chumlee–“No drug addict Limbaugh, you and your pals at Fox Noise – failing Palin, et all are responsible for the terrorism you
spew. You and yours are TERRORISTS, Fox Noise, including you, need to be shut down and taken off the air. You are a disgusting individual whose mouth needs to be shut. Where the sun does not shine Linbaugh. Crawl
into a hole and stay there – and – bring all of your nut job friends, including the psycho from Alaska – you know,
the quitter, failing Palin!”

This post should have been taken down by CNN. Calling Limbaugh and me, since he included “you and yours” as terrorists is real hate speech. How are we terrorists? CNN traffics in hate by not deleting this.

sandy–“No, his comments never incite others! Hogwash!! This man’s mouth is nothing but inflammatory remarks. Of course he, Palin,Beck etc are not going to own up to what their inflammatory rhetoric does, that would stop the money flow for alll of them, and it’s about money for all of them. Many Americans have all along thought that some of the rhetoric out there was going to end disastrous, it was only a matter of time. Now, there are some who have the guts to tell the truth. I for one want this to end and if it means taking these pundits off the air, then so be it.”

Ok, so this person favors censorship, but what specifically constitutes inflammatory rhetoric? None of these people called liberals terrorists, as the previous liberal did.

carlos–“as to the imbecile woman from alaska: you do not offer condolences to the family of a living person……..such stupidity from this woman is beyond comprehension…….and, you bloated drugster: do not spin it because you are just a responsible as that woman because of your hatred for the President of the United States of America with your vile and evil mouth.”

Actually the liberal media initially reported Congresswoman Giffords as deceased. So Palin’s comments in context were correct. Calling someone bloated is a slur against fat people. Is that not hate speech?

Rush Bimbo–“This guy drinks his own kool-aid”

That offers nothing.

GT66–“One must wonder how Limbaugh can close his eyes at night with all the damage his rhetoric has done to public discourse in this country. It must be the drugs that help him sleep at night.”

His addiction to prescription pain pills is fodder for the left, but Barack Obama did cocaine. So what? How does Limbaugh’s human failings on a human level make him hateful?

Al-NY,NY–“You’re a fat, loud-mouthed, loathsome and drug addicted slob. If it were the other way around, you’d be first in line with the blame game”

Real classy Al. Limbaugh has not blamed anybody but the guy who did it.

Jreddog1–“Me-thinks thou doth protest too much.” And another sign that Rush is just as crazy as Loughner. When he should be saying “Whoa, maybe the hate fueled, anger filled, and outrageous statements made by me might have had an influence on this character”, instead he is saying “Don’t blame me, that is unfair and I had nothing to do with it.” He continues to maintain his divisive nature. He is a lunatic.”

Limbaugh is a lunatic? Based on what diagnosis? Charles Krauthammer has decades of experience in psychiatry, and he offered a diagnosis of the shooter without giving Limbaugh the same diagnosis. What statements did Limbaugh make?

Dave–“So what? Who cares what Limbaugh thinks? Considering that this fascist idiot wrote the book on “playing politics,” his reactions are quite amusing when the shoe is on the other foot. He’s the typical “do as I say, not as I do” conservative – all mouth and no brains.”

Actually, politics has been played since the beginning of time. Machiavelli came long before Limbaugh, and so did Sun Zhu’s “the art of war.” Saul Alinsky came before Limbaugh. Calling Limbaugh a Fascist is saying an anti-Italian slur, and I am not sure Limbaugh is even Italian. How is he a Fascist?

Four and The Door–“In this instance Rush Limbaugh is exactly correct. The more information that comes out about Jared the twisted and confused mass murderer, the clearer it is that this crime was a result of mental illness rather than partisan politics, Sarah Palin, ObamaCare or anything else that actually exists in the real world. In fact, it was reported that Jared the twisted and confused mass murderer also hated the previous administration. He was neither pro-Republican or a Democrat. He was sick. But the far left liberals do not let a little thing like the truth get in the way of Sarah bashing. That’s why their rants are so easy to tune out. They mean nothing.”

That is what we call a lucid, coherent argument. It was offered by a conservative and defender of Limbaugh.

Are there conservatives who go on message boards and into chatrooms and spout nonsensical gibberish?

Absolutely.

Are there liberals offering lucid and thoughtful arguments regarding the tragedy itself?

Of course.

Has a single liberal offered a single example of Sarah Palin, Glenn beck, or Rush Limbaugh engaging in true hate speech?

Since their is zero link between the shooter and today’s political climate, isn’t focusing on the political climate a way for the left to try and exploit a tragedy for political gain?

Most certainly. Socialist Bernie Sanders actually mentions the tragedy and Sarah Palin in his fundraising letter. If using a colleague who was just shot in the head to raise campaign money is not hateful, perhaps I have lost track of when that became respectable.

So again, until the left can offer any actual example, they should just shut up and sit down.

Until the left stops engaging in real hate speech that allows me to provide hundreds of real examples on a  daily basis, they should just shut up and sit down.

The left is poisoning our society because they cannot win in what Limbaugh calls the arena of ideas.

The left is the culture of hate in America. The right are the innocent victims of the leftist rage.

Deep down, the left knows this.

Based on the recent polls about the exploitation of the tragedy, so does an overwhelming majority of the American people.

  1. “…a 22 year old pot smoking reader of the Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf…”

None of those decriptions have anything to do with what happened any more than Sarah Palin or the Tea Party; being 22, smoking pot, or reading essentials like Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto (I should hope you’ve read those, otherwise you need some serious brushing up on your reading!).

It should not require any great explanation to understand why so many, left, right and center, have a distaste for Limbaugh. It’s been explained a million times. Limbaugh is a bombastic snake-oil saleman. He always has been. The list of his infamous rhetorical attacks is too long to place to here, but just a couple…

“(Barack Obama) wouldn’t have been voted president if he weren’t black.”

“Sorry to say this, I don’t think he’s (Donovan McNabb, a Hall of Fame QB for sure) been that good from the get-go. I think what we’ve had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. They’re interested in black coaches and black quarterbacks doing well. I think there’s a little hope invested in McNabb and he got a lot of credit for the performance of his team that he really didn’t deserve.”

And that’s just a tiny snippet of Rush’s race-related quips.

Limbaugh is the voice of the repressed rage and insecurity of the vast, unwashed, undereducated, confused, white, male masses. But rather than helping these people to better themselves, to become happier, to become more positive, Limbaugh assuages their lesser angels, reassuring that their hatred, misogyny, insecurity, racism, and xenophobia are all well-placed and good. He is the great Confessor Apologist of our selfish and hateful vices. There is nothing “innocent” about Rush Limbaugh. He is an intrinsically bad human being.

    News update:

Michael Steele has just dropped out of the RNC chair race. I am off to go cry…hydratic lamentations. We win an election and fire our leader. The Pelosiraptor keeps her job and Steele loses his. The GOP circular firing squad continues.

Jeeez man ! I just wrote a very substantial post and it dissappeared.
    Eric !
    You gotta fix this !

” He is an intrinsically bad human being.”

So is Obama but neither has anything to do with Jared

  5. Tygrrrr, why you are so attached to Steele, I will never know. The GOP win, and big win, in the 2010 elections, was coincidental to Steeles tenure at best, despite him at worst. His RNC did little for the congressional races, and sometimes even hurt them. The Senate races all ended predictably. I just don’t see why you believe this guy should be running the RNC.

And Tygrrrr, Micky is abosutely correct! You have to fix this. I have written many posts over time that never made it up. You can fix this. Is there some reason this is happening that we readers are not aware? All you have to do is let your blog know about the problem and they should be able to fix it. It could even be some cumtomized code gone awry. The coding for blogs is very, very simple HTML. Even non-techies like me can usually resolve problems like that.

Micky, none of it really has to do with conservatives either, right? That’s what you guys say, right? Over and over and over and over and over. So why do you guys keep going on and on about it and everyone else has moved along from that mistaken, knee-jerk conclusion.

For those having trouble posting, I do not know what is causing the problem. I am a monkey typing on a keyboard, technologically incompetent.

I save things before posting just in case. If that is of zero help, again I freely admit I have no idea what causes the problem or how to fix it.
