Meeting Tanya Acker

In the oddest of ways, I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know attorney and Democratic political strategist Tanya Acker.

I was flying first class, and I saw this stunning woman coming from the washroom. I was sure she was on television, but I thought she was a supermodel. When she told me that she was Tanya Acker, I knew exactly who she was. I had seen her debate on Hannity and Colmes.

While she is ferocious on television (an attorney by trade), she is very pleasant in person.

She let me know that she was reading over my shoulder. I had printed out some articles from RealClearPolitics, and enjoying the wisdom of Sir Chartles of Krauthammer and Dr. Thomas Sowell.

Ms. Acker let me know that she did not agree with what I was reading.

Yet despite having political views that could not differ more from mine, she was absolutely delightful to get to know. It made for pleasant conversation and a pleasant flight.

She laughed when I told her that I wanted to marry Andrea Tantaros and Mary Katharine Ham. She pointed out that they were even more beautiful in person. I am not surprised.

I figured she would detest my book, but that it did not hurt to show it to her.

After the flight was over, I asked her if she wanted to purchase a copy for one of her conservative friends. She surprised me by saying that she wanted a copy for herself instead.

As for the rest of the conversation I had with her, it shall stay private. She is entitled to her privacy.

Yet this is not a story about meetingĀ  apolitical pundit and discussing politics. It is about how we treat people we disagree with.

The Golden Rule truly does work. I found very little common ground with Ms. Acker politically, but nevertheless found her to be a lovely person.

(Also, for those of you single guys out there, she does look like a supermodel.)

The world will be a better place one person at a time when we lay down our arms, stop shouting, and just talk to each other.

Having said that, I hope I never debate her on Hannity. She is much sharper than me.

I wish Ms. Acker well always.

Yes, the woman is drop dead gorgeous, but wrong. Its almost heartbreaking, but thats just my ego talking.

Micky, I know so few names of television personalities, it is embarassing… the only one who comes to mind is Keith Ogreman, but I only remember him because he is so comically hateful and full of bile. Prior to my deployment, I would have agreed one hundred percent that Dems are wrong about 90% of the time on issues. I took a survey on Candidate Obama’s positions and found that of 50 questions, I agreed with him on one – and that was reinstating voting rights for certain convicted felons.

My Iraqi handbook told me that I would find that what is right is left and left is right, and as a logical man, I ignored the advice…until I saw it first hand. We did exhaustive planning for certain missions, including rehearsals they detested, and rarely accomplished a mission. Conversely, a thrown together cordon/search or patrol netted great results. The Sons of Iraq and Reconciliation Programs seemed stupid – putting former terrorists on the payroll and giving a free pass to others who “confessed” their wrongdoings… We could analyze the dynamics – timeliness, foreknowledge leads to forewarning, whatever, and these aren’t very good examples, but these methods worked, and it made me realize that some people are just wired differently. No amount of education, logic, or experience will effect a change in their thinking. So whereas you may have a current of focused energy running through your brain, your leftist counterpart is a spasm of static electricity – and both result in Ford or V8 moments. Somehow the two balance out. My wife claims to be a conservative and votes that way (I think), but she acts like a Dem… So now my curiosity is piqued about this gorgeous girl…

Flash, Flash, Flash! This comment is off topic, but the urgency
of it forced me to use Eric’s latest comment:

Over 500 young Pakistani cadets have been kidnapped by the Taliban, and are being held captive.

Pakistani troops are at a loss as to what to do…burdened down in
the Swat area of northwestern Pakistan.

At the same time, our great leader, Barak Obama, is preparing
for a M.E. visit (including Egypt but not Israel) to show how
    he loves the Muslims.

My gosh, how naive can this guy be?

He shows his disdain for over 20m Americans unemployed or
underemployed by taking in the sites in Manhattan, New York (seeing
a play about, guess who) then eating at one of NYCity’s most expensive
eateries). Or as what’s her name said, “Let them eat cake”.

Mud in your eye average American, Obama has showed his true colors.
He gives 2 trillion to the Wall Street bankers..keeps our taxes high, while
the budget is out of site.

On every front, this guy and his advisers are failing US, and our
    allies.

Israel is being pressured to stop the building on the so-called settlements
    (W. Bk and Jerusalem) while the Palestinians build, and build and build,
mostly without proper permits, unafraid of any Israeli consequences (they know Hillary will and has come to their rescue).

Is this really bout “natural growth” or something more, much more, I ask?

The slide down the greased slope has started folks, towards Israel’s demise.

I don’t believe Obama wants to see Israel destroyed, but if he persist
in this cancer of forcing Israel to give up the cards it holds, PRIOR
to sitting down with the Palis and negotiating (double standands galore).
we all see the writing on the wall.

I saw through Obama 2 years ago when he started his campaign,
    surrounded by his pinko advisers.

Obama’s house Jews have given in to the theory that by pressuring
Israel, (and not the Palestinians) and linking all of the world’s problems
to little Democratic Israel..we will see peace in the ME.

He’s got it backwards and we will all pay the price for his stupidity.

Israel…the country God both blessed and cursed…a legacy of God’s promise. As Israel goes, so goes the US…whereas many Israelis wait for the Messiah, many US citizens await His return…the current POTUS is an insignificant caricature in His grand scheme and will be reduced, by his actions over the next six months, to the tell uh prompt uh he is… Still looking for pictures of Tanya Acker…time for a web search…

    Eagle.
Its a state of confusion thats perpetually being launched by the ” there must be a better way” without a real solution of their own compounded with self laothing for never being worth a damn in almost every national security issue.
This brings them to an “apologetic” and “appeasing ” mindset that can only fucntion when placing blame on everything, including their own country.
This is why we see creeps like Pelosi putting more energy into convicting those that love their country and protect it than those who want to obliterate and rob it.
    Thats just me.
